Last week, during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, we had the privilege of hosting a NENA - National Emergency Number Association 9-1-1 Center Supervisor course at CFCC! We want to give a huge thanks to the 911 community for their dedication to the critical life-saving services they provide daily.

Very exciting news! Our second Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) Pilot Program cohort achieved a 100% pass rate on the State Comprehensive Exam!

CFCC was one of only two NC community colleges to offer this second pilot round. The program expanded from 640 to 878 hours, emphasizing practical skills and de-escalation to meet the evolving needs of law enforcement and their communities.

We celebrated the graduation of fifteen Detention Officer Certification Course (DOCC) students on Friday, March 1. Students from four counties throughout North Carolina participated in the course and passed the state exam.

Congrats to the recent graduates of Cape Fear Community College's Detention Officer Certification Course (DOCC)! Seven students from New Hanover County Detention Facility and Sampson County Detention Facility passed the state exam after a demanding five-week course.

CFCC recently hosted a Jail Administration course July 24-28. This 40-hour course, developed by the National Institute of Corrections, is meant for Jail Administrators or Assistant Jail Administrators. Its purpose is to provide information about effectively running a detention facility.

Participants from various counties attended the course, including Cabarrus, Franklin, Brunswick, Moore, Pitt, Gaston, Catawba, Alexander, Beaufort, Pender, Onslow, and Burke. Thank you to the vendors who helped with the course: Pay Tel, Kimbles, Southern Health Partners, Guardian One, and Autonomy Today.
