VIKING NATION — WE’RE MOVING!

Miami East Local Schools has created a new official page due to administrative access issues with our current page.

Please begin following our NEW official Miami East Local Schools page here:

Moving forward, all district news, announcements, celebrations, athletics, events and important updates will be shared on our new page.

We will not shut down this current page immediately. We want to allow plenty of time for our families, staff, alumni and community members to make the transition and begin following our new page. However, this page will no longer be our primary source for new district updates.

Help us spread the word!

Congratulations to our Miami East boys golf team!

The Vikings battled heavy rain and wind yesterday at Piqua Country Club for the Three Rivers Conference Championship. Brandt Wingate and Gabe Littlejohn led the team, each shooting an 88, with Gradyn Spitler close behind at 89!

Thank you to the Piqua Country Club staff for their hard work making the championship possible after recent storms damaged the course. We also appreciate the sportsmanship shown by all the teams throughout the season.

💙🤍 MEET OUR NEWEST VIKING STAFF MEMBERS! 💙🤍

Today, we’re excited to feature one of the newest members of our Viking leadership team, Dr. Joe Hoelzle, Superintendent of Miami East Local Schools!

Dr. Hoelzle began his career at Hopewell-Loudon Schools in Bascom, Ohio. He later served as a principal at Hardin Northern Schools and Tri-County North Schools before most recently serving as Superintendent of Covington Exempted Village Schools.

Dr. Hoelzle earned his bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University and both his master’s and doctorate degrees from Bowling Green State University.

Since arriving at Miami East, Dr. Hoelzle says he and his family have felt incredibly welcomed by our staff and students. He is looking forward to strengthening relationships with our many stakeholders and collaborating with the people who make Miami East such a great place to work and learn.

Fun Fact: Before becoming an educator and administrator, Dr. Hoelzle was a college football player at John Carroll University! He has also coached both football and wrestling.

We’re excited to have Dr. Hoelzle leading our district and becoming part of the Miami East community!

Welcome to the Viking family, Dr. Hoelzle!
