🦅Graduated Sophomore Highlight🦅
Josie Mares comes from Glenrock, Wyoming, and is the daughter of Erick and Kenzie Mares. Josie is pursuing her degree in both Animal Science and Agricultural Communications and hopes to obtain her bachelor's in both. Growing up on a small cow-calf operation, Josie developed a passion for livestock while showing multiple large animal species over her 4-H and FFA career and soon began raising her own small herd of registered Hereford cattle. Going on to show cattle across the state and even at the Junior National Hereford Expo. Josie began livestock judging during her sophomore year of high school and was involved in judging as a 4-H and FFA member, and was extremely proud to be continuing her time as a competitor at the collegiate level. When she’s not judging, she has been helping advise her county 4-H livestock judging program, and enjoys her time working cattle, taking pictures for her photography business, roping with her sister, and spending time with her family
