SEWING MACHINE BASICS
Build confidence with your home sewing machine while creating fun, practical projects in a supportive environment with instruction woven throughout. Explore beginner to intermediate techniques like threading, stitching, pattern reading, and morewhile making bookmarks, potholders, bags, and aprons. Selected supplies are provided. Bring a sewing machine, bobbins, extra machine needles in sizes 12 or 14, fabric scissors, thread snips, a seam ripper, black and white thread, and straight or safety pins. Bring 2-4 yards of fabric and a coordinating spool of thread to the second class; the instructor will provide guidance at the first meeting.

FLY FISHING FUNDAMENTALS
Dive into fly fishing, starting with essentials such as casting, tying knots, identifying aquatic life, and choosing flies in the classroom. Hone your skills and learn to read water during a field trip to a local public fishing spot. Selected supplies are provided. Bring note-taking materials and a dozen flies, available at the Ugly Bug Fly Shop, to the first class. Wear clothing appropriate for the weather and activities. Ideal for beginners seeking hands-on experience and confidence in fly fishing. Register and submit travel paperwork, along with proof of fishing license and conservation stamp, available at sporting goods stores, by Wednesday, Sept. 2. Driving your own vehicle is not permitted.

CANINE HIKING BASICS
Navigate the fundamentals of hiking safely and confidently with your dog. Cover essential gear, trail etiquette, conditioning, and how to prepare for varying terrain and weather. Build knowledge and skills to make outdoor adventures safe, fun, and rewarding for you and your canine companion. A liability release is required. Bring proof of rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccinations. Register one human per dog, and ensure your dog is friendly and nonreactive to people and other dogs. Bring a 6-foot nonretractable or bungee leash, a flat collar, and a toy. Meet at the Adventure Playground Gazebo at Crossroads Park.

WHITEWATER RAFTING
Make a splash this summer with a guided rafting experience. A memorable day trip to Thermopolis includes expert tutelage from the Wind River Canyon Whitewater and Fly-Fishing staff. All gear is provided for this three-hour rafting journey. Bring a sack lunch, water, snacks, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a change of clothes. A waiver is required. The van to Thermopolis departs from the Myra Fox Skelton Energy Institute parking lot. Driving your own vehicle is not permitted. Register and complete travel paperwork by Thursday, July 23.

Enjoy extra studio time in this engaging ceramics workshop. Refine hand-building skills over four clay-work evenings, plus a glazing experiment day.
