Kaleidoscope was a success! Even the rain couldn’t keep our community away. We loved seeing everyone who stopped by our booth and took time to say hello.

A big thank you to MAHC for hosting this wonderful annual event—rain or shine. We’re grateful to be part of such a vibrant community and can’t wait for next year!

What a fun-filled last week! From ice cream trucks and relay races to fishing, yearbooks, graduation celebrations, games, and soaking up the sunshine, we wrapped up the school year making wonderful memories together.

Another successful year is in the books, and we’re looking forward to a little summer break before we kick things off again this fall.

We’d love to see you at some of our summer events! First up is Kaleidoscope with McCall Arts & Humanities on June 27th in McCall. We can’t wait to connect and celebrate with you there!

Thank you to Tackle Toms and Idaho Fish and Game (IDFG) for donating fishing poles and supplies for our fishing day!

Our 4th and 5th graders wrapped up their annual camping trip along the Salmon River last week—an experience filled with adventure, learning, and memories that will last a lifetime!

One of the most meaningful traditions of the trip is releasing the salmon they’ve spent nearly the entire school year raising. Watching that journey come full circle is a special moment for our students and a powerful reminder of their connection to the natural world.

A huge shoutout to our incredible teacher, , for leading this amazing experience and making it all possible. And thank you to our wonderful parent chaperones for sharing in the adventure and helping create such a memorable trip for our students!

🐥 2nd/3rd Grade Mission Chicken Presentation! 🐥

Our students raised four chicks and learned firsthand how to care for them by providing food, water, shelter, and lots of love. Throughout the project, they explored what it takes to keep chickens healthy and happy while building important science, math, engineering, and research skills.

Students engineered model chicken coops, helped build a real coop, designed and created chicken toys, and weighed the chicks weekly to track their growth. They even created line graphs to display and analyze their data!

Each student also researched a topic based on their curiosities, including:

• the chicken life cycle
• different chicken breeds
• skeletal structure and whether a beak is part of the skeleton
• how chickens make eggs
• why humans raise chickens
• domestication of chickens
• differences between hens and roosters
• chicken illnesses, diet, and health

To top it all off, students performed a fun and educational play about chickens! We are so proud of their hard work, curiosity, creativity, and teamwork throughout this incredible project. 🐓

One of Miss Bre’s favorite traditions before the class camping trip is teaching students the Indigenous wisdom of the Honorable Harvest. These teachings remind us to harvest with gratitude: ask permission, give thanks, take only what we need, and leave enough for the rest of the ecosystem.

Students put these teachings into practice by harvesting nettles from our school’s patch near the outdoor play area. They then carefully dried the nettles to make tea — a hands-on experience in respect, reciprocity, and connection to the land.
