Our students at Out of the Box Learning Center had an amazing time exploring Reid Park Zoo! From watching the animals to engaging in hands-on learning experiences, this trip was filled with excitement, curiosity, and lots of smiles. 🦒🐘🦁

Field trips like these are more than just fun—they help our students build social skills, practice real-world interactions, and connect classroom learning to the world around them. We loved seeing their confidence grow as they explored, asked questions, and shared the experience with their peers.

Where are the kids?

Empty boxes are fun to play with—and learning is the same: start in the box, then go out of the box!📦

There are many ways to communicate, including spoken words, gestures, pictures, AAC devices, and spelling. We support a total communication approach, allowing individuals to use all available methods to express themselves. Here we model vocabulary development is supported through spelling and the use of AAC devices.
