Summer Reading Challenge 06/01/2026

Dear Future Summer Readers,

Every book you open is an adventure – whether you are exploring new places, meeting new characters, or learning something new. A whole summer of reading fun is waiting just for you!

This summer, as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of America’s founding, we are excited to invite all children (K-8) to join in the Second Lady’s 2026 Summer Reading Challenge. Participants will read and track 12 books of their choice between June 1 and September 4. Every book counts!

When you finish your 12 books, ask your parents/guardians to let us know, and we will send you a personalized certificate, an America 250th anniversary-themed bookmark, and a special link to receive a prize! You will also be entered for a chance to visit our nation’s capital and the White House with a chaperone. Terms and conditions apply.

Where will your next book take you? We can’t wait to find out!

Stay connected to the COIL way this summer — spark curiosity, ignite passion, and unleash genius! We encourage students to capture their summer learning adventures by taking pictures and posting them in the COIL Photo Circle for 2026. Whether you’re reading, exploring, creating, traveling, or trying something new, share your learning journey with our COIL community! Above and beyond the amazing learning that will be shared, we’ll also hold a short assembly with possible prizes when school begins again at the end of July. We can’t wait to celebrate all the ways you kept learning alive this summer!

Dear Cheetah Families,

As we approach the last few weeks of school, we wanted to take a moment and make sure that all families have received information regarding our End of Year policies and procedures for middle school students.

May 13th - 8AM: 8th Grade Chromebooks and chargers collected
May 19th - 8AM: 6th & 7th Grade Chromebooks and chargers collected

IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
Students MUST return a charger with their device.
All 8th grade students must have their fees (bus ID, technology, library) paid prior to promotion on May 20th. You will be notified 24 hours after device check-in if there is a fee for technology (see Fee Schedule below).
All middle school students will be sent home with an initial invoice outlining any library, technology, or bus ID fees they have. We will be sending this home with 8th graders first so families are able to begin taking care of fees prior to promotion. A final invoice will be sent within 24 hours after device check in. If you have any questions regarding fees/fines for library or bus ID, please reach out to Michelle Raley by phone or email at [email protected] or 520-836-6694.
8th grade students who have outstanding fines will not be allowed to participate in the promotion ceremony.
All Chromebooks must be cleaned and have stickers removed.
Students MUST return the same device they were issued at the beginning of the year. If you or your child is not sure about their device number, they can reach out to their teacher or families can contact Natalie Rodriguez at [email protected].

Fee Schedule
Sticker Removal: $10
Damaged Screen: $100
Damaged Keyboard: $50
Broken Hinge (not repairable): $300
Missing Charger: $50
(Note: If your child is missing their charger, you CAN purchase one on Amazon for $10 and turn it in with their Chromebook)

**If your child is assessed fees, you can pay in the COIL front office**

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our office team and they will be happy to help you. We appreciate your continued support and look forward to an amazing end of the school year!

Sincerely,

Scott Raymond, Principal
