“People who think ADHD means having a short attention span misunderstand what ADHD is,” says Kathleen Nadeau, Ph.D. “A better way to look at it is that people with ADHD have a dysregulated attention system.”

Here is a question for thought, what does it mean to THRIVE?

“ Some of the brightest children struggle to read. Dyslexia occurs at all levels of intelligence—average, above average and highly gifted. Many gifted people at the top of their fields are dyslexic. While people with dyslexia are slow readers, they often are very fast and creative thinkers.”

Spelling tests are NOT effective for dyslexic individuals. Orton Gillingham methodology teaches spelling concepts in a way that actually helps improve spelling.

I love how happy the children are during their sessions. Just because something is difficult doesn’t mean you can’t have fun while doing it.

I have this conversation often with parents. It is one of the reasons I decided to offer this private intervention.

As a special education attorney, I see this far too often. Bright and willing students who have much to offer the world are told to “wait and see” while they struggle, falling further behind before schools take action. And sometimes it is many years. By the time help is offered, they are years behind their peers, confidence is shaken, skills are hard to rebuild, and families are exhausted.

The law doesn’t require children to fail before they receive support. Schools have a duty to identify students who may need help and provide appropriate evaluations and services in a timely manner!

If your child is struggling with reading, writing, or learning, and you’re being told to wait, you have options. Early intervention matters. Advocacy matters. Start learning the law, reach out for guidance, and advocate.

Because no child should have to fail to get help.

Wolf Educational Consulting in Cary is growing, and we’re hiring.

I truly believe word of mouth is the best way to find incredible people, so I’m putting this out to our community.

We are looking for someone who loves children, is kind, energetic, and creative, and wants meaningful work. A college degree is required (it does not have to be in education). This individual will be trained in Orton-Gillingham reading instruction or Executive Functioning support for students with ADHD. This training takes commitment, and we provide mentorship and support along the way.

We work one-on-one with our students, making sure each session is tailored to exactly what they need.

We offer competitive compensation, ongoing professional development, and the opportunity to be part of a collaborative, mission-driven team that changes students’ lives.

This could be a great fit for:
• Someone already trained in OG or EF
• A new college graduate
• A teacher ready to move beyond the classroom
• Someone entering a new season and looking for purposeful work

Full time or at least 25 hours per week.

If someone comes to mind, please send them my way. Message me privately if you’d like to learn more.

9 years ago we started working with a kiddo who has dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADHD, and anxiety. She is now in college and contacted us today that she made a 99 (highest grade in the class) in her freshman English class. Her paper was called Driven by Anxiety about her learning how to drive. Orton Gillingham and Executive Functioning support works!
