🏕️🌳Park Details/Info Below 👇🏼 Located in Lillington, NC - Raven Rock State Park is something fun and free to do this summer! Pack a picnic lunch, hike, and enjoy the sounds of the water being surrounded by nature and huge trees! Our family hiked a total of 4 miles here with our 6 and 9 year old & had a great time. We were shaded the entire time. They have a Junior Ranger Program, but the main office was closed when we visited unfortunately. Those tax extensions will be due before you know it.... corporate returns due Sept 15. Personal returns due Oct 15. Don’t wait until the last minute.

Almost at pajama day!! Been a busy but productive year. All those hours of training with the new tax laws paid off!!

American Institute Certified Public Accounts (AICPA) - Nonprofit Certificate I - completed! This was a 40 hour program to help understand the complexities of the nonprofit financial reporting.

Whew! January 31 deadlines are met. The W2s and 1099s are all in the mail.

Just a few notes about this year's return:

While IRS is now accepting returns (since January 23) - no refunds with Earned Income Credit or additional child tax credit will be issued before February 15.

Mileage rate for 2016: 54 cents per mile
Mileage rate for 2017: 53.5 cents per mile
Mileage rate for 2015: 57.5 cents per mile (for those curious)

Medical/moving mileage
2016: 19 cents per mile
2017: 17 cents per mile

Charity mileage remains at 14 cents per mile

Due Date: April 18, 2017.
April 15, 2017 is on a Saturday; Emancipation Day in the District of Columbia is Sunday, April 16, 2017, and is observed on Monday, April 17, 2017. So even if you don't live in the District of Columbia, tax year 2016 returns are due Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Your return is considered filed on time if the envelope is properly addressed, postmarked, and deposited in the mail by the due date.

Happy 2017! It's time to start cleaning out/organizing all those receipts from last year.

Do yourself a favor and don't wait until April to get those tax returns done. You know you have to fie, stop the dread and just make it happen.
