If you’re earning money from gigs, teaching, producing, merchandise, or your performer brand, Glitter, Garters & Gross Income is an hour dedicated to the part of being a working performer nobody teaches you in dance class.

Atlanta’s Currency StClaire is bringing Burly Business to the Raleigh School of Burlesque this Sunday to break down the basics of turning your art into a more organized, sustainable business.

Learn about forming an LLC, getting an EIN, opening a business bank account, using business credit to track expenses, keeping personal and performer finances separate, and identifying potential performer-specific tax write-offs—from costumes and rhinestones to travel, photography, classes, marketing, rehearsal space, and more.

You’ll leave with practical information for getting started, a reference sheet of potential write-off categories, and time to ask Currency your own burly business questions.

You’ve got the act. You’ve got the costumes. You’re booking gigs, buying rhinestones, traveling to shows, selling merch, taking classes, getting photos taken—and suddenly your burlesque career is looking a whole lot like a business.

Join Atlanta-based performer and professional project manager Currency StClaire for a beginner-friendly crash course in the business side of burlesque. Join Champagne Holiday for Bubbles, Ballads & Burlesque, a 90-minute workshop devoted to the delicious challenge of singing LIVE while you strip.

We’re talking microphones. Music tracks. Working with sound people. Costuming. Choreography. Removals. Stage presence. And most importantly, learning how to make the song live in your body so you’re not simply singing while performing — you’re telling a story.

Champagne has been rocking stages professionally since 1994 and brings decades of live vocal experience to her burlesque performances.

Plus, her name is Champagne Holiday. Of course we’re having champagne.
