Good evening Laker Family!

This is Mr. O’Shea, principal of Mattamuskeet School, with this year’s first announcements!

It has been a fun-filled summer and we are excited to welcome students back on Monday, August 17th!
Please remember, all students must be present by 7:45am to be marked present for the day, this includes high school students reporting to homeroom in the morning. The only exception are those students who have Beaufort Community College Classes or other arrangements, in which case they must sign in to the front office before reporting to class.

This Thursday, starting at 5pm, will be our Title I and Open House/Back to School Night! We hope to see as many families there as possible as we give schedules, give you the opportunity to meet the teachers, and start off the school year with a positive launch!

Immediately after Open House, at 7:30pm, will be an athletic meeting for all athletes in our gym. You can meet our new athletic director, coaches, and get important information about student athlete safety and concussion protocols. Make sure you stay there for that!

Remember, school supplies will be provided by the school, all your student will need is a lunch box and book bag.

Thursday, August 20th we will be offering sport physicals for any fall athletes. You can grab a form at back to school night or visit the front office for one if you are interested.

We are looking forward to a great school year!

Please review this important high school attendance reminder:

⏰ Homeroom Arrival: High school students must report to homeroom by 7:45 AM to be marked present for the day.

📝 Late Arrivals: Any student arriving tardy—whether due to their schedule or other reasons—must sign in at the front office for attendance tracking.

Thank you for your attention, cooperation, and continued support in helping us keep accurate attendance!
