Band Seniors: Enjoy your last weeks of marching band! It's time for cooler weather, marching in parades, and filling the air with music as you pass through downtown Apex...thousands of people watching you under the night sky and holiday lights. What a feeling of accomplishment!

Band Senior parents, breath in the cool air at the parades, watch your student march by, and remember the last 4 years of band....the first "parent night" in the August heat (you never knew you would be marching yourself!); anticipation of finding your freshman student on the the football field for the first time; the silence of the crowd as the band begins their show in competition; holding your breath as the kids approach their jazz run; concerts; pot luck dinners, and the feeling of satisfaction (and perhaps relief) as season winds down. And the friendships...so many parents pulling together to make this crazy band thing happen. Uniforms and make up. Plumes and gloves. Prop building and truck loading. Practices and carpooling. The kids are not the only ones having a good time.

As any alumni knows, the season may change, and our activities with our kids evolve, but each activity brings new friends...and ones we cherish long after we move to "the next thing."

Lots of groups of alum parents gather for wing nights, football games, and barbecues. How about you? Where are you meeting up with (former) band parents?

Students are receiving their Raffle Ticket packs today (Tuesday)! Now that they are back from BOA, we'll get this sax party started!

Kickoff Of the Sax Raffle at PCI!!!

Update: a success! 44 tickets sold means $1100 towards our goal. Many thanks to Dianne Crawford, Ann Cuilla and Joy Wilkes for working at the Sax tent at PCI.

Kenny G's gifted Sax is soon to be our PCBB Alumni's gift back to the band program...once we raise the roof with this raffle fundraiser! Tickets ordered, signage shipped, and viewing area ready for PCI!

This beautiful saxophone was donated to our organization by Kenny G, the phenomenally successful contemporary and smooth jazz saxophonist. Our Panther Creek Alumni committee plans to transform the donated instrument into financial support for the program.
