Safe Routes to School Statewide Strategic Plan Stakeholder Survey - PublicInput 08/05/2026

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is currently developing a statewide Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Strategic Plan to help guide future program development, partnerships, engagement, and infrastructure and non-infrastructure investments across North Carolina.

The deadline to complete the survey is Friday, August 14.

The Wake County Board of Commissioners has approved the addition of a school bond referendum to ballots this November. This general obligation bond issue would account for $680 million in funding for the Capital Improvement Program (CIP), the majority of which is allocated toward renovating and improving existing school facilities.
