We equip adolescent girls in high-risk situations through a long-term, holistic program.

The CORRAL Riding Academy is a non-profit organization operating out of Cary and Raleigh, North Carolina dedicated to bettering the lives of troubled teens and rescued horses. We do this by using horses as a vessel to promote healing, growth and lasting life change. The unique structure of CORRAL is based on five components: horseback riding, vocational training, academic support, equine-assisted

End of Year at our Neuse River Farm and what a year it was! 🎉

We're so proud of every teen who pushed through, grew, and showed up for themselves and each other.

Also, a BIG shoutout to our senior, Giselle, she has been such a light in Riding Academy, and we are so excited to see her take on the world! 🌎 ❤️

One of the unique components of CORRAL’s programs is our commitment to providing transportation for participants who truly need it.

Making it to the farm each session is crucial to a participant’s success, and for many families, reliable transportation can be a major barrier. By helping students get to and from the farm safely, our transportation volunteers play a direct role in ensuring consistency for every girl in our programs. 💚

If you or someone you know would be interested in joining our transportation volunteer team, please visit corralriding.org/volunteer or email [email protected]!🚗✨

Did you know horses sweat to cool themselves down just like humans do? ☀️🐴

On hot summer days, horses naturally regulate their body temperature through sweating, which is why staying hydrated and taking shady breaks are so important for them!

Join the Herd is our 12-week introductory program that helps teens increase self-awareness, learn communication skills, and set healthy boundaries.

We offer shortened summer rounds consisting of six weeks where we serve over 20 girls in this time span.

CORRAL's services are more critical now than ever and we encourage you to visit corralriding.org/refer-a-girl to refer someone that you think would be a great fit for our program. 🐎🌿💪

Our partnership with the Literacy and Community Initiative is one we hold very close to our hearts! 💌📚✨

Our students had the opportunity to display and explain their artwork at the North Carolina Museum of Art! They also read an excerpt of their choosing from their published books that they put so much effort and creativity into!

This Teacher Appreciation Week, we asked our Education Managers a few questions about their role here at CORRAL ❤️ Here's what they had to say....

- Shelby Edmond, Raleigh Campus:
I didn't just wake up one day and decide to become a teacher. It kind of grew on me over time. I've always been drawn to people, especially young people, and to those moments when something clicks for them. Seeing someone go from "I don't get it" to "wait… I can do this" is powerful. That shift when confidence starts to replace doubt is what inspired me. I realized I wanted to be part of creating more of those moments.

What keeps me going each day is the relationships. It's not just about lessons or grades, it's about the students. Every day is a chance to show up, to listen, to encourage, to remind them they're capable, even when they don't believe it yet. Some days are harder than others, but knowing that I might be the steady, positive presence someone needs is what motivates me to keep showing up and giving my best.

- Kathryn Weber, Cary Campus:
I became a teacher because I wanted to make a lasting impact on the children I work with, especially those facing adversity and challenges in their lives. I wanted to be a consistent, supportive figure, even across different walks of life. Twenty years later, my mission is still the same. It just looks a little different now, working on a horse farm instead of in a classroom! I love what I do. I love being an advocate for our teens and seeing them grow, thrive, and accomplish their goals.
