As we wrap up Week Two of the Boys Ballet Summer Intensive, the energy and excitement from our dancers continue to grow. These young men are eager and hungry to learn, and it is a pleasure to see so much interest, focus, and excitement as they absorb every class, correction, and new challenge.
Now we head into our final week, bringing everything together for a beautiful performance at the end of Week Three. After three weeks of intensive training, coaching, and rehearsals at the International Ballet Academy studios in Cary, we can’t wait to see all of that dedication come to life onstage. Today we celebrate the visionary, the mentor, and the leader of International Ballet Academy.
Over the past year, Rubén’s passion for ballet, unwavering commitment to excellence, and inspiring artistic vision have helped guide IBA into an exciting new chapter. His dedication to every student, every class, and every performance has elevated our community and inspired dancers to pursue their highest potential.
He is an extraordinary teacher, an exceptional coach, and a leader who brings the perfect balance of strength, humility, kindness, and humor. He has the rare ability to challenge dancers to achieve more than they ever imagined while creating an environment where they feel supported, encouraged, and inspired every step of the way.
Rubén believes that great ballet training is about more than technique—it is about building disciplined, confident, resilient artists who carry those values both inside and outside the studio. That philosophy can be seen every day in the culture he fosters and the example he sets.

The weeks are flying by, but the excitement still feels just like the very first day. As we wrap up an incredible Week 5, it’s hard to believe we have only two weeks remaining in our 2026 Summer Intensive!
Every day, our dancers continue to challenge themselves through inspiring classes, exciting repertoire, individualized coaching, and new opportunities to grow. From refining classical technique to beginning the foundations of partnering with our younger dancers, every aspect of the program is designed with one goal in mind: preparing dancers for the demands of professional ballet.
