Cary Academy Alumni

So much fun was had with our alumni (and friends!) at the 29th Scholars’ Golf Classic! Thanks to everyone who joined us and a special thank you to alumni chair Yates (and Cate) Parrish ‘11 for rallying the troops. Even though it was a little chilly, this annual tradition is one you don’t want to miss. ⛳️

A cheerful time was had by all! We loved getting together to celebrate our milestone reunions with chips, salsa and quac! Thanks to all our Chargers (and the ones who love them) who joined us 💙💛

How fun was it to cheer on Laney Rouse ‘20 last weekend at she made her Wake Med Soccer Park debut as part of the ! Alumni and current varsity players were part of the sold out crowd cheering on Laney as she took home the W.

We are so proud of our hometown hero and look forward to cheering her on all season long ⚽️

Lydia Eisenbeis (‘16), Ayla Kaufman (‘15), Alex Udell (‘15), and Rachael Blondy (‘10) recently all got together for a run on the Chicago lakeside. A beautiful sunny day to reconnect with old friends.

Laney Rouse ‘20 recently signed with the Kansas City Current and shared with us “this has been nothing but answered prayers and a little girl’s dream come true.” Ever since she can remember, it has been her dream to play soccer professionally. If you knew her as a student, you know just how much soccer means to her (and all the events she had to miss because of it).

Laney grew up watching these amazing professional women with so much skill it blew her mind. She remembers feeling inspired after watching games, and knowing that one day she wanted to play just like them. “To now be in the position to play with some of these women I have looked up to growing up, and to learn and grow from all of their experience has been such a blessing from God.

I have been soaking it all in and hoping that I can be that same example and inspiration for younger players today.”

The Kansas City Current will take on the Carolina Courage in Cary on May 2nd. Stay tuned for how to get tickets to the game so we can cheer on Laney!
