Reflecting on Arjun’s journey at Ivybrook Academy, it’s incredible to see how much he has grown since he first started at just two and half years old.
In those early days, our mornings were a bit of a struggle—filled with tears and hesitant goodbyes. As parents, it was tough, but the warmth and patience of the Ivybrook staff made all the difference. Fast forward to today, and the transformation in Arjun is night and day. Now five years old, those tears have been replaced by genuine excitement; he truly looks forward to school every morning and can't to wait meet his friends and teachers!
Beyond just the academics, it’s been amazing to watch his personality truly shine. His social growth, his new friendships, or his blossoming curiosity has increased ten fold.
One of the most rewarding parts of these past three years has been watching Arjun find his voice. He went from those first few words to becoming a confident, expressive boy who loves to share stories about his day. We are so grateful to the Ivybrook community for nurturing his independence, his kindness, and his unique spirit.
As we look back on this chapter, we know these years will always be remembered. Ivybrook holds a very special place in our hearts, as it’s where Arjun truly found his spark. When parents think about kindergarten readiness, they often think about letters, numbers, and early literacy skills. While those skills certainly matter, research consistently shows that social-emotional development is equally predictive of long-term academic success.

At Ivybrook Academy, social-emotional learning is not a separate subject on the schedule. It's in everything we do. Group projects, collaborative play, and guided conflict resolution all give children daily practice in empathy, self-regulation, and communication.

Ms. Ashlyn is one of our amazing Older Twos and Threes teachers. She brings so much creativity, joy, and exploration into her classroom each day. From hands-on sensory experiences to imaginative invitations to play, she creates meaningful opportunities for children to discover, investigate, and learn through their interests. Ms Ashlyn thoughtfully follows the children’s needs and interests. Her flexible, child-led approach allows learning to happen naturally through curiosity, play, and exploration. She creates an environment where children feel supported, engaged, and excited to learn every day.
