Kids with developmental delays often have a hemispheric imbalance, meaning one side of the brain is underactive and the other is overactive. According to the Melillo Method, sensory input from the body helps strengthen (or quiet) the matching hemisphere.

Changing the input on each foot forces the brain to:

🔗 Improve left–right brain communication

⚡ Activate the weaker hemisphere

🌀 Build balance and body awareness

👀 Strengthen motor planning and sequencing

🚶 Develop smoother, more coordinated movement

This helps kids who struggle with:

➡️ Balance or clumsiness

➡️ Poor posture or coordination

➡️ Focus and attention challenges

➡️ Reading, writing, or tracking issues

➡️ Sensory sensitivities

We put him on the vibration plate in a crawling position… here’s why. 🧠

Crawling is one of the most important stages of early brain development. It builds cross-pattern movement, strengthens core stability, and connects the left and right hemispheres.

When a child is on hands and knees, the brain is working to coordinate opposite arm and leg patterns, the same pathways later used for reading, writing, and sustained focus.

Adding vibration increases sensory input through the hands, arms, legs, and core. That extra input wakes up the brainstem and midbrain, the areas responsible for regulation, posture, and attention.

If crawling patterns were rushed or missed early on, higher skills can feel harder than they should.

This isn’t exercise for the sake of movement. It’s rebuilding the foundation in the brain.

Most parents are told to work on academics harder.

Very few are told to strengthen the systems that make academics possible.

This might look simple… but it’s targeted brain training. 🧠

He’s flipping through images and explaining each scene while wearing blue Eyelights and TENS units. That combination matters.

• Flip books strengthen visual processing & sequencing
• Describing images builds language organization & comprehension
• Blue Eyelights stimulate underactive focus centers
• TENS improves brain-body communication

When kids struggle with reading comprehension, it’s often not motivation. It’s processing.

If visual, language, and regulation systems aren’t working together, learning feels exhausting.

Most parents are told to practice reading more.
Very few are told to strengthen the brain systems that make reading possible.

When you step into this office, I want you to feel it right away: hope lives here. You are part of a family that loves and believes in you. Thank you for letting me walk this journey with you, it’s truly a gift.

If you know a family who could use a little more hope, let them know we’re offering assessments to help uncover what’s really going on in their child’s brain and body.

Sometimes the biggest reasons your child struggles to focus are the ones parents don't even know to look for.

In this video, we cover five common factors that can make focus worse:
• Too much sitting
• Too much screen time without enough movement
• Skipping key developmental milestones
• Relying only on rewards and consequences
• Strengthening the brain’s stronger side while the weaker side falls further behind

Focus is a brain skill. When the foundation isn’t there, attention will always be inconsistent.

The good news? Once you understand what’s really happening, you can start supporting the root cause instead of just managing the symptoms.

Here’s what’s happening:

🔴 Red eyelights stimulate one hemisphere of the brain, helping “wake up” an underactive side.

🦶 Foot-controlled movement challenges balance, coordination, and proprioception.

👁️ Focused attention is required to move the game accurately without losing control.

🧠 Left–right brain integration has to happen constantly to stay steady and succeed in the task.

This kind of activity supports kids who struggle with:

➡️ Focus and attention

➡️ Clumsiness or balance issues

➡️ Sensory overwhelm

➡️ Reading, tracking, and visual-motor coordination

➡️ Emotional regulation and impulsivity

We brushed across his lips to check for the Rooting Reflex.

This reflex is meant to integrate in infancy. If it’s still active, the nervous system may still be operating from an early developmental pattern.

That can show up as:

• Speech and articulation challenges
• Picky eating or texture sensitivities
• Poor mouth coordination
• Difficulty with fine motor skills
• Trouble focusing during reading or writing

Why does a mouth reflex affect focus and handwriting?

Because oral motor control and fine motor control share overlapping brain pathways. If the brain is still reacting automatically instead of controlling movement voluntarily, higher-level skills can feel harder than they should.

Here's what it does 👇

We’re using a cold laser therapy light to stimulate specific areas of the brain, the same areas responsible for attention, emotional regulation, and sensory processing.

At the same time, the vibration plate is sending powerful input through the feet, legs, and core, activating the brain-body connection from the ground up.

This kind of multi-sensory input helps calm the nervous system, improve focus, and support brain development in kids with ADHD, sensory issues, anxiety, and learning struggles.

Every child’s brain tells a story and I love helping uncover it. ✨ One of the incredible tools we use here is cold laser therapy, paired with Melillo Method protocols. It helps activate specific areas of the brain so kids can make progress that feels lasting and life-changing.

Each program is customized after a full 10-area brain assessment, because every child deserves a plan as unique as they are.

Seeing their growth, their joy, and their spark return is why I love what I do. 💛

If you know a family who could benefit from this kind of care, we offer full brain assessments to help uncover what’s really going on.

What if your child doesn’t actually have ADHD… even if they were diagnosed with it? 🤯

So many parents come to us feeling confused, frustrated, and unsure.

But when we test their child, we often find something different: a functional disconnection, where one side of the brain is overactive and the other is underdeveloped.

And here’s the twist…
That imbalance can create every classic ADHD symptom.
But the root cause isn’t ADHD, it’s a brain that’s out of sync.

We don’t just manage symptoms.

We strengthen the weaker hemisphere, integrate primitive reflexes, and reconnect the brain so kids can focus, regulate, and thrive 💙

Most kids don’t need more meds…
They need connection, stimulation, and integration.
