👉Teachers have absorbed higher health care premiums without relief.
👉Educators regularly work nights, weekends, and many days throughout the summer to support students.
👉There has been an increase in reported assaults on teachers in recent years (Source: NCDPI).
✅A completed budget now would bring clarity and stability.
🗳️Voters are watching closely—and they reward results and remember delays.
🗳️Unresolved issues like this can carry real consequences at the ballot box.
✅🇺🇸Please pass a budget with teacher raises, fair steps, and the restoration of masters pay.

North Carolina teachers have waited long enough.

NC ranks 43rd in teacher pay nationally, teacher healthcare premiums have increased, and North Carolina remains the only state in the nation without a finalized state budget.

Last fall, American Teachers Alliance emailed every member of the North Carolina General Assembly about teacher pay.

Today, we are publicly sharing our open letter because North Carolina educators deserve action—not more delays.

We respectfully urge lawmakers to finalize the budget and prioritize meaningful teacher raises.
