Physical Therapy for dancers! How to prevent injuries and maintain a healthy dancing life!
🌟—Together We Bloom! Conversations that Inspire Growth.—🌟
This week, we chat with Caitlin Greenstein: Physical Therapist and owner of Beyond Physical Therapy.
Caitlin, having extensive dance training herself, knows the ins and outs of a dancer’s life; the rigorous training, the aches and pains, and the specific needs that dancers have to maintain a strong and healthy body!
We chat about the benefits of Physical Therapy for preventive and rehabilitative purposes and the benefits of a dance studio/dance program partnering with a PT to help their dancers. (She is located in Raleigh, NC and she can travel to you!)
Caitlin is doing great work at and it was great chatting with her about ways dancers can maintain their strongest and healthiest bodies!

This week, I shared in a video some action items you can take for a successful hybrid classroom!
Here are those action items listed out! For more details and elaboration on each point, you can revisit that video from earlier.
What other tips do you have for hybrid teaching? What questions do you have?!

One thing I’m focusing on this year is incorporating more yoga poses and stretching in my classes. Not only does it help students with their flexibility and balance, but I find that it really helps with stress and anxiety relief.....which is so important this year!!
If you’re wanting some stress relief for yourself and/or want to add to your stretching repertoire for your students, come join us TOMORROW night! (Thursday, October 😎 at 7pm on Zoom for a Yin Yoga Stretch Class. You guys!! You’ll love this class and will realize how much you needed this class! Can’t wait to see you then! Bloom Dance Teacher BOOK CLUB! 📚
Join for a different book suggestion each month! We’ll read books that foster creativity and encourage success!
🎃 October’s Book of the Month. What the Most Successful People Do Before Breakfast by Laura Vanderkam.
This book is AMAZING and I’ve already made so many changes. I’ve always been an early riser, but over the last few months, have lacked serious motivation to get up early. This gave me the push I needed to get back into the habit of getting things done early in the morning!
Another thing this book focuses on is what the most successful people do on the ⭐️WEEKEND. ⭐️ This was especially inspiring to me...we’ll talk more about that later!!
Tag and in an Instagram Story or Post anytime this month, and you’ll be entered to win a $20 gift card to the place of your choice-and yes this includes a payment straight to your Venmo if you prefer! (If you have a private account, send a DM with a screenshot of your post!)
Can’t wait to read with you!!

Mask talk!! 🙊 I’m currently teaching in a hybrid classroom with half my students in the classroom and half on Zoom. It’s a challenge, for sure, but each week feels a little more comfortable as I tweak things along the way. (I’ll be sharing some tips of hybrid teaching, soon!! Maybe in an insta live?!!)
One thing that has helped, FOR SURE, is finding a good mask with a head strap. This is the 3 pack mask that comes with a strap. ( suggested the Reebok mask as well, so that one is next on my list to try!)
I like that this mask doesn’t “suck in”. You know when you’re talking/teaching and you suck the fabric in?! Ugh.
Also, the head strap/croakie is a game changer!! When I can step away from my students at a safe distance, I remove my mask so all the students can hear me more clearly as I demonstrate. Demonstrating a port de bras forward with a mask just dangling from your ear is RISKYYY!! (Don’t want that thing dropping to the floor!!) So, now, with the strap, it just stays there while I’m demonstrating, and I can easily put it back on before I walk closer to them.
(Never in my entire life did I think I’d be talking about masks on a dance page, BUT HERE WE ARE!)
What are some of your challenges in your classroom now?!

A great reminder from the great C.S. Lewis. There can be so many applications to this thought. 💛
