Tried and true camp knife! I made this one at the ABS Texarkana intro to bladesmithing class in 2011. Not the original handle, but it still works amazingly - a testament to my instructors Greg Neely, Steve Culvers and the late David Anders

It’s a beautiful Friday in the Faroe Islands with Joel Cole and Tim Byrns as we finish the work week on the sculpture project Joel’s been commissioned to create. Here’s more on the project I’ve been so blessed to be a part of and the amazing artists I get to work with.

Hey everyone! I am in the Faroe Islands with my new friend Tim Byrns, a contemporary wood sculptor from Duluth, MN. We have been given a huge opportunity to come help our friend Joel Cole with his public sculpture here in the Faroes. More to come about Joel and his sculpture and Tim's and my involvement with the project!

I couldn't let this one go out the door without having a professional photo taken with Sharp By Coop Photography. Thanks, Jim. You did an amazing job, as always! As far as the blade, it's a 15.5-inch wrought iron san mai. The lang seax is a take-down construction with a slotted brass guard and pommel with brass and copper accents. The handle is hand-carved ancient bog oak. Overall length is 21.5 inches. I thoroughly enjoyed making this seax. I get a lot of joy out of making these. Thank you all for checking it out!
