A huge thank you to the Tzu Chi Foundation and the See 2 Succeed program for bringing their wonderful vision services directly to our school. Thanks to their incredible support, 21 of our students were seen today, and 19 students are going home with a brand new pair of glasses!

A special thank you to the Tzu Chi Foundation for truly blessing our students today. Your generosity is helping our students see a brighter future! 💙📚

Fourth grade celebrated the completion of our first ELA unit by bringing Peg Kehret’s personal narrative to life!

Throughout the unit, students read about Peg’s childhood battle with polio and her journey toward recovery. Today, they stepped into her shoes by participating in physical therapy exercises, trying "Sister Kenny treatments", reading inside an “oxygen tent,” using a wheelchair, and playing an accordion, just as Peg did. We ended the celebration with a chocolate milkshake, like the one that helped save her life in the story.

Our students also became authors during this unit, writing personal narratives about meaningful experiences from their own lives. Although Peg Kehret passed away last winter, her story continues to live on through her writing. We hope our students will continue sharing their own stories, too. Maybe one day, we will see their names on the covers of published books!
