Congratulations to Kim Garey on her promotion to Human Resources Director for the Carthage System!

Kim has been a valued member of our Human Resources team, most recently serving as Farm Human Resources Manager. Throughout her time with the Carthage System, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership, a deep commitment to our employees and a passion for supporting the people who drive our success.

Kim has consistently played a pivotal role in ensuring continuity across our HR operations while continuing to support employees and leaders across the organization. Her professionalism, dedication and steady leadership have made a lasting impact and helped position our team for continued success.

As Human Resources Director, Kim will partner with Chief Human Resources Officer Amy Chambers to help lead our HR strategy, support our employees and strengthen the people-first culture that defines the Carthage System.

Please join us in welcoming Amy Chambers as Chief Human Resources Officer for the Carthage System. Amy joins our leadership team with a strong commitment to supporting our people, strengthening our culture and helping position our organization for continued growth and success.

Amy brings a wealth of leadership experience to our team, with a career in human resources spanning higher education, health care and agriculture. Most recently, she served as an HR Business Partner at Consolidated Grain & Barge, where she was also a member of the regional leadership teams. She previously held leadership roles at Knox College and Western Illinois University.

A graduate of Western Illinois University with both a bachelor's degree and an MBA, Amy is passionate about building strong workplace cultures where employees can thrive. As CHRO, she will lead our human resources strategy while supporting the people who make the Carthage System exceptional.

The Carthage System is pleased to welcome Eddy Camacho as bilingual onboarding coordinator.

Eddy earned a Bachelor of Science in agriculture and production from Panamerican Agricultural School, Zamorano. He brings two years of swine industry experience and nearly two years of U.S. human resources experience to the role.

His background includes poultry production and nutrition, and his first experience in swine production was with the Carthage System. In his new role, Eddy will support bilingual onboarding efforts and help employees feel prepared, informed and connected as they begin their work with the organization.

Eddy said he is most excited about the opportunity to share knowledge, help people develop and share his passion for the swine industry.

The Carthage System is pleased to announce the appointment of Dylan Shaffer as Director of Strategic Partnerships.

Dylan brings a strong foundation in production agriculture and extensive experience in relationship management within the animal health industry. A graduate of Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in animal science, he combines firsthand production knowledge with a proven ability to build strategic partnerships and deliver value to producers.

Raised in Ursa, Illinois, Dylan grew up on his family's diversified farming operation, which included hogs, cattle, and row crop production. That background instilled a deep understanding of the livestock industry and the importance of building trusted relationships across all segments of production. He currently resides in Norwalk, Iowa.

Throughout his career, Dylan has gained valuable experience through his work on the family farm as well as account management positions with TechMix and Veterinary Pharmaceutical Solutions. In these roles, he partnered with producers and industry stakeholders to identify opportunities, strengthen customer relationships, and support long-term operational success.

As Director of Strategic Partnerships, Dylan will focus on cultivating and strengthening relationships with the Carthage System's owners and strategic partners while supporting the continued growth and success of the organization.

"I am excited to join a growing production system and to work alongside our owners and partners as they reach their goals with their investments," said Dylan.

Our Summer Interns have finished their last week with us!

They have spent all summer working on research projects and ended the program with presenting on their findings to their family's and the leaders of Carthage System.

We are incredibly grateful they choose to spend their summers with Carthage and cannot wait to see all the great things they will do in the future!
