Mississippi State Fair 2026! We volunteered at the FarmTastic Exhibition and had a few students get their feet wet with a livestock judging contest.

ATTN: Luckily, our Mum delivery was moved up a few days to tomorrow (Wednesday) around noon! Most students elected to deliver their orders unless otherwise arranged. After we organize them and the orders they should make their way to you quickly. As always, thank you to all who supported!

This morning our chapter participated in the Pearl River Clean Sweep under and around Carthage’s very own, HWY 35 river bridge.

These students cleaned up a lot of trash and debris that would have ended up in our Pearl River and eventually into our gulf!

Great job to our students who decided to serve on an early Saturday morning!

📣Good News! 📣

HWY 35 River Bridge will be a Pearl River Clean Sweep Site this year‼️

When? This Saturday, September 19th @ 8AM!

The past 3 years our chapter has volunteered as part of the Pearl River Clean Sweep and served several Leake County locations along the Pearl River by cleaning up litter along the banks and areas draining to the river. This is a statewide campaign to help aid in preventing pollutants and trash making it further down our rivers and into our gulf.

This year we want you to join us! All you need is to complete this registration at this link:
https://www.pearlriverkeeper.com/2026-register.html prior to Saturday and to come with long pants/work clothes, boots and gloves.

Youth (Besides FFA members) need to be accompanied by parents/guardians. Parents/Guardians of members are welcomed and will be appreciated, but everyone will need to register.

Cleanup will begin at 8:00 and we should wrap things up by noon. We hope to see you there!

Upperclassmen of Leake High FFA had the opportunity to attend MSU’s Discovery Day today to learn about a variety of agriculture-related careers and majors.

From drones and precision technology to horticulture, entomology, veterinary science, and textiles, students were able to gain hands-on experience and visualize the different components of these programs and industries.

New name! New students! Same great experiences!

Today some of our students were able to enjoy some of the fruits of their labor from our few watermelon vines we planted back in May. 🍉

Although it is still technically summer we are ready to help you get your Fall decor together with our annual Mum sale fundraiser, even better, all while supporting a Mississippi farm and our FFA Chapter! 🌼🌺💙💛

The past two days members of the Leake Central FFA Chapter have been recognized at State Convention for placing third in Poultry Evaluation Career Development Event contest, 2nd Place in Milk Quality (Missing-Brooklyn Jones), and last but not least, Emily Stewart as an American Degree candidate.

The American Degree is one of the highest honors and awards given to FFA members based on extensive SAE projects (Supervised Agricultural Experiences).

Let’s give these students a round of applause and congrats for their hard work and dedication. 👏🏼👏🏼💙💛🏆
