🌟 Staff Spotlight: Meet the Amazing People Behind Partners for Children & Families! 🌟

This week, we're excited to recognize Kathy, one of our dedicated Parent Coaches!
Although Kathy chose not to complete our Staff Spotlight questionnaire, we couldn't let this series pass without recognizing the incredible impact she has on our team.

For the past year and a half, Kathy has been a valued part of the Partners for Children & Families family, supporting parents as they build confidence and strengthen relationships with their children through our parenting programs.

One of the first things you'll notice about Kathy is her warm smile. She has a calming presence that brings a sense of peace to our office and helps create a welcoming environment for both coworkers and the families we serve.

Whether she's offering encouragement, jumping in to help with a project, or simply taking the time to listen, Kathy is always willing to lend a helping hand wherever it's needed. Her kindness, compassion, and servant's heart make our workplace a better place every day.

At Partners for Children & Families, we believe that the relationships we build matter, and Kathy exemplifies that through the care and support she shows to everyone around her.

Did someone say, "BACKPACK PACKING PARTY!?" Yep, it was us!

Join us Monday, August 17 from 11 AM–2 PM for our Day of Service as we pack school supply bags and backpacks for local kids getting ready to head back to school! These backpacks will be distributed through our community partners, Family Promise and Partners for Children and Families, to help local children start the school year ready to learn.

Come anytime between 11 and 2! We’ll put out new grade-level bags at the top of each hour, so if the grade level you’re hoping to pack isn’t available when you arrive, don’t worry—we’ll restock at the next hour.

We can't wait to see you!

Donations can be dropped off at the Southern Pines Public Library through this Thursday!

Wow! Our community is amazing!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has donated school supplies so far! Every item brings us one step closer to filling backpacks for local children served by Family Promise and Partners for Children and Families.

Great news: We've already met our goal for pencil sharpeners! Thank you!!

We're still especially in need of:

🖍️ Highlighters
📚 Coloring books
🟦 Glue sticks

If you're planning a trip to the store this week, we'd love for you to add one (or more!) of these items to your cart. Donations can be dropped off at the Southern Pines Public Library through August 13.

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Meet the Amazing People Behind Partners for Children & Families! 🌟

This week, we're excited to introduce Diane, our Family Outreach Coordinator!
Many families and educators throughout Moore County know Diane as a trusted Parent Coach, guiding caregivers through the Triple P and supporting early childhood educators through PECE. Her work helps build stronger families and positive outcomes for children.

This August, Diane celebrates 7 years with Partners for Children & Families! We're so grateful for the passion, knowledge, and compassion she brings to our team every day.

💙 What she enjoys most about her work:
Building meaningful relationships with parents and educators, watching families make connections during parenting sessions, celebrating the "It worked!" moments, learning from the challenges, and sharing plenty of laughter along the way.

🐝 Fun Facts:
Diane is a certified beekeeper and rides a motorcycle! She also enjoys gardening, reading, cross-stitching, relaxing by the pool, and happily doing the dishes instead of cooking.

📚 Why Early Childhood Education Matters:
"The early years build the foundation for lifelong learning and success. Through interaction, communication, and play, children develop the skills they need to manage emotions, solve problems, and build healthy relationships. It's a privilege to help guide parents, caregivers, and educators on that journey."

Diane's encouragement, expertise, and genuine care help families feel more confident, educators feel more supported, and children have the opportunity to thrive.

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Meet the Amazing People Behind Partners for Children & Families! 🌟

This week, we're excited to introduce Julie Taylor, our Early Literacy Specialist!

For the past four years, Julie has helped inspire a love of reading in children across Moore County through several of our literacy initiatives, including Raising a Reader, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, our Barbershop Books program, and our Lending Library.

Through these programs, Julie supports parents, teachers, and caregivers by providing books and shared learning experiences that help children develop a lifelong love of reading. Her work helps ensure that every child has the opportunity to build strong literacy skills from the very beginning.

📖 What she enjoys most about her work:
"I value the opportunities to spend time with the teachers and children in their classrooms. There is nothing more rewarding than reading aloud with children and watching them laugh, ask questions, and become excited about a story."

📚 Fun Fact:
Julie is an avid reader herself and still treasures some of her favorite books from childhood. Her love of reading is something she enjoys sharing with every child she meets.
