Motorists can expect an increased law enforcement presence in and around school zones throughout Moore County. Please slow down, stay alert, obey posted speed limits in school zones, and allow extra time during morning and afternoon commutes.

📅 The first day of school for MCS students is August 26, 2026.

Thank you to our law enforcement partners for helping us promote safe driving and protect our students, employees, families, and community.

🚌 We Need More Bus Drivers. Join the MCS Team!

The Moore County Board of Education has approved increased bus driver pay, with starting pay now at $20 per hour and pay up to $24.15 per hour.

Our bus drivers are essential members of the Moore County Schools team. Every day, they help ensure our students get to and from school safely while making a meaningful difference for the families we serve. We are incredibly grateful for our current drivers and believe their important work deserves competitive pay. ❤️

Now, we need more people to join them. With the new school year quickly approaching, several bus driver positions remain open, and filling those vacancies is critical to providing dependable transportation for our students and families.

If you are looking for an opportunity to serve your community, support students, and make an impact every day, we encourage you to apply today.

Moore Innovative High School kicked off the 2026-2027 school year today with smiling faces, renewed friendships, and plenty of excitement.

As students stepped off the bus and filled the hallways, the school’s first two cohorts came together to begin a new year of learning and opportunity. It was an exciting reflection of how MIHS continues to grow and strengthen its community.
