It is with a heavy heart that I announce that the Charles A Beard School Board Trustees voted 4 to 3 to close Carthage and Kennard Elementary schools effective at the close of the current academic year. Next school year K-3 will be at Knightstown Elementary, 4-8 at the Knightstown Intermediate School and 9-12 at Knightstown High School.

A second community meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 in the Knightstown High School Auditorium. The meeting will begin at 10:00 A.M. Interim Superintendent, Joe Backmeyer, will again present options for the use of C.A. Beard School Corporation facilities and those in attendance will have an opportunity to ask questions and comment on the options that are presented. Those attending the community meeting should enter and exit Knightstown High School through the east entrance of the building. Please join us
