Despite the weather, our families, students, staff, community partners, and volunteers SHOWED UP for the 2026 Back to School Bash—and what an incredible evening it was!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated, partnered with us, helped behind the scenes, or simply grabbed an umbrella and came out to join the fun. You are what makes events like this possible! The rain may have fallen, but it definitely didn’t dampen the Comet spirit! ❤️☄️

The Carthage Back to School Bash is next Tuesday, August 25, from 3:00–6:00 p.m. at Carthage High School!

🗺️ Check out the event and parking maps before you arrive.

🚌 We’re also holding a Comet Cares Donation Drive! Bring food, clothing, hygiene products or school supplies and drop them off at the yellow school bus.

🧁 Don’t miss the Safe Schools Endeavor Bake Sale! Board of Education member Rob Sligar of CrossCountry Mortgage will TRIPLE MATCH the money raised, benefiting Safe Schools Endeavor, Comet Closet and Augustinian Academy!

🏆 Hunger Heroes! 💙💛

Congratulations to Miss Millich and her students on receiving the Hunger Hero Award yesterday at the Hilton Garden Inn!

Each week, these students played an important role in supporting our Backpack Program at the Middle School. From helping with Food Bank deliveries and stocking shelves, to keeping inventory organized and packing more than 100 bags every week, they help make sure students and families across our district have access to food when they need it.

We are incredibly proud of Miss Millich and her students for the time, care, and hard work they put into this program each week. This recognition is so well deserved!
