Handwriting—and particularly the complex, continuous motor movements involved in cursive—engages multiple sensory, motor, visual, and cognitive systems that support learning, encoding, and recall.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays our upper school ladies bible class begins with ten minutes of quiet cursive scripture copywork. We love this habit of the hands and heart and we pray the Lord uses it to write His Word on the tablet of our hearts.

Will you help us cross the finish line? Phase 1 of our renovations are almost done. We can begin to use the building soon! There are small jobs and areas needing to be cleaned, painted, or repaired. Curtains to hang, furniture to move in, landscaping, bathroom vanities, mirrors to hang, whiteboards to install, etc. Join us the next two Saturdays at Christus Classical School! We would be so grateful for your help!

Our Common Arts class this week was taught by a very talented parent who owns a baking business. Students learned how to pipe frosting onto cake using three different tips. We are so grateful for parents who donate their time and talents to make our school a place where beauty and community are valued and celebrated!

📖 When Bible class comes to life!

Today our students stepped into the pages of Judges—literally! As we studied the story of Ehud and his assassination of King Eglon, our students dressed up in what they thought an assassin might wear to help bring this dramatic account of Israel’s history to life.

Our students are learning that the Bible isn’t just a book of stories to read—it is the history of God’s people, filled with real places, real people, difficult choices, courage, sin, deliverance, and ultimately our need for a righteous King.

And yes… sometimes Classical Christian education means your Bible class gets a little dramatic! 😄

We love giving our students opportunities to see, remember, and understand what they are learning.

“The LORD raised up for them a deliverer, Ehud…” — Judges 3:15

Fridays at Christus Classical School include Common Arts class. A common art is a skill or practical art of human life by which students learn to order, make, cultivate, preserve, and care for the people, places, and things God has entrusted to them.
Drawing inspiration from The Didascalicon, by Hugh of St. Victor, our school has incorporated these arts into our curriculum so that our students may be better prepared for life.

Today our students learned about order, and faced several challenges. They worked together to organize a kitchen drawer, a medicine cabinet, and an office desk drawer of varied items.

Drawing from Genesis 1 we found all we needed to guide us in bringing order to these items. When God created the world, he sorted everything, then he named them and ordered them.

The students did an amazing job bringing order to chaos today!
