Learning, laughter, and fun filled the library as Carteret’s little learners enjoyed Esphyr Slobodkina’s classic book, Caps for Sale. The story engaged participants through interactive, repetitive phrases and plenty of funny monkey business!

Participants created their own unique caps while dramatizing the adventures of the peddler and his colorful collection of wares. They also crafted swinging monkeys and mimicked the hilarious antics of the mischievous monkeys from the story.

Parent participation elevated the experience even further as families joined in for songs, finger plays, and interactive activities. It was a wonderful morning filled with creativity, imagination, and lots of laughter!

🎨Art can say what words sometimes can't.🎨
Within these 10 weeks artists created a safe, supportive space where adolescents explored emotions through creativity. Using art activities, participants transformed feelings into meaningful artwork while building confidence, strengthening their voice, and discovering healthy ways to cope.
Together, they left with more than a finished piece-they gained self-awareness, connection, resilience, and a visual reminder that their story matters.
Every brushstroke is a step toward healing, self-expression, and hope.
