Laura, known as the Mariachi Queen, was instrumental in the group's creation and was its original musical director.

The sound of the national anthem at a baseball game is more than tradition—it is a moment of unity 🇺🇸, pride, and shared identity. When performed by mariachi 🎻🎺, that moment becomes even more powerful. It reflects the richness of our community and the cultural legacy that young people deserve not only to inherit, but to actively shape. Here we see two of our students – brother and sister Alexia and Joseph Gonzalez – performing the United States National Anthem at a local baseball game organized by HHolly Park Little League This is possible, thanks to his parents DDulce Maria Gonzalez-Rodriguez

At ACLA, this is exactly the work being done every day. Through music 🎶, mentorship 🤝, and cultural education 📚, ACLA gives young people the opportunity to connect with their roots while building confidence, discipline, and leadership. Mariachi is not just a performance—it is identity, history, and voice.

This cultural influence continues to evolve in powerful ways. Artists like SSnoop Dogg, who collaborated with BBANDA MSto blend hip-hop with regional Mexican sounds, and Cypress Hill 🔥 have long embraced Latin sounds, blending hip-hop with regional Mexican traditions.

That visibility was on full display during a moving tribute to at Game 1 of the 2024 World Series at Dodger Stadium ⚾—a moment that underscored the profound connection between culture, community, and sport. Featured in that celebration was the renowned Mariachi singer
DDeyra Barrera who performed a memorable tribute "El Toro de Fernando Valenzuela" and was joined by Mariachi artist JJulian Torresduring the tribute, which featured highlights of the late pitcher on LLos Angeles Dodgersision.

Who was in the audience? None other than American r***r, songwriter, and record producer, KKendrick Lamar After seeing Dayra’s emotional tribute, Lamar collaborated with her on his 2024 album GNX, providing vocals on tracks like "Wacced Out Murals," "Reincarnated," and "Gloria". This is America.

Today, the LeGerrettes founded a large program in San Diego the Cesar Chavez Service Clubs. Bonita y orgullosa representación de la cultura Mexicana departe Salma Hayek. La misión del Mariachi ACLA.

Salma Hayek lució un impresionante traje de Tehuana de gala durante la inauguración de la exposición de los vestidos y objetos personales de Frida Kahlo en el museo Victoria & Alberto (V&A) en Londres. El traje, bordado a mano sobre terciopelo negro con flores en la cabeza, fue una creación auténtica de gala confeccionada en el municipio de Santo Domingo, Tehuantepec, Oaxaca.

La actriz mexicana sorprendió a los invitados especiales con su presencia y estilo, saludando al público con un "Viva México". El traje fue conseguido gracias a los esfuerzos del mexicano Polo Sánchez Valle y el español Julio Parejo, a través del Mercado Mexicano Mestizo.

Durante el evento, Salma Hayek expresó su admiración por Frida Kahlo, diciendo que ella cambió su vida de muchas maneras. Recordó que descubrió la obra de Frida cuando tenía 14 años y, aunque inicialmente le parecieron "horrorosas y escalofriantes", con el tiempo llegó a amarlas y se inspiró para hacer la película "Frida" (2002).

La exposición "Frida Kahlo: Making Her Self Up" en el V&A mostró una colección de vestidos y objetos personales de la artista, destacando su estilo único y su influencia en la moda y el arte.
