The kids did much better with team story telling then I was expecting! I started out by saying “Once there was a ladybug on the door of the house” and then we went around group and gave children the chance to add the next part of the story if they wanted to!

Ask your kiddos to share about our Story of the Ladybug!

This would be a fun activity to do as a family too!

Hi everyone!!

Sorry about the lack of posting on here! Last week we didn’t do a newsletter so I wanted to remind everyone that there is a district wide half day on Friday!

Also we are taking a break from our box study. Since there is some colder weather we are going to be talking about exercise so we can move our bodies a little extra if we aren’t able to go outside for recess! If you like exercise or healthy eating and want to come share with us let me know and we can plan a date for you to come lead a group activity!

Thanks,
Mrs. Taylor

For those that didn’t get to come in and see our cute little Rudolph pictures!

I’m all about child directed art, but every once in a while we have to throw in a project that has a specific outcome! These turned out SO cute!

Wrapped up our water study with a surprise experiment - What happens when water and snow coat our slides!? I promise no children were hurt, each one was having so much fun and went down several times - most were trying to see if they could land on their feet but some were enjoying landing on their bums! 😉

Side note a we go outside EVERY DAY unless there is thunder/lightning, hail, or the “reel feel” temp is too low. Please send in snow gear daily OR leave a set here if you have extras. If your child does not have snow gear please send me a text or private message and we can do our best to help find a way to provide those things. We highly suggest waterproof gloves too because we are outside for 30 +\- minutes and our hands get chilly when our mittens are wet!!

Thanks preschool families!

Our original calendar says we are doing a Halloween party at 8:30am! Please disregard that - we are doing the parade with K-3 this year and having a snack and activity afterwards!

Wow! I have been a “super slacker” and haven’t posted anything for the school year. Sorry everyone!

Today we got a visit from local firefighters and EMS, who taught us all about fire safety and showed us the cool Firetruck!

Please discuss with your children where a safe meeting spot would be outside in case if a fire started in your home & see if they remember what the tank holds on the firefighters back (air to breath)!

The end of the school year brings out a lot of different emotions. We have been doing an end of the year countdown in the classroom; but we also realize to some kids summer break isn’t exciting.

It’s important that conversations about this chapter are happening at home. Have your child share something that was their favorite, what they hope to have in their class next year, or even ask a parent of another child if they can ”write” letters to each other over the summer. Help them know that it’s okay to miss things sometimes and that that lets us know that that person or that place is special to us 💗

This link has some summer book ideas too:

10 end of the year books for kindergarten and first grade. These sweet picture books make great read alouds to help you say goodbye to your students.
