UWG Observatory

The University of West Georgia Observatory has been in use for UWG's students and residents of Carro The UWG Observatory hosts a number of telescopes.

There are two Celestron 14" telescopes, one inside the dome and a second in the yard and a series of smaller portable telescopes for use with student and public observations. The observatory aims to enhance our student experience. It also serves for public outreach opportunities, such as the observation of transits, comets, and general star gazing. It has been used for undergraduate research both in astronomy and in looking at the feasibility of net zero energy structures.
