Get ready to explore Northern Tuscaloosa County! The Tuscaloosa County Natural Resource Planning Committee is excited to invite you to the upcoming Tuscaloosa County Land Tour on October 1st.

This is a great opportunity to get out on the land, learn, connect with others, and see firsthand what makes the land and resources of Tuscaloosa County so special. Whether you’re a landowner, agricultural producer, outdoor enthusiast, or simply interested in learning more about the area, we’d love to have you join us!

Lunch will be provided.

🌸💐What a Beautiful Day to Bloom! 💐🌸

Today was all about flowers, creativity, and growing something beautiful at the Pickens County Extension Office’s Backyard Bouquet Workshop! 🌼

Participants enjoyed learning from Commercial Horticulture Agent Margaret Ann Snow about growing, harvesting, and arranging cut flowers-and then put those tips into practice with some hands-on arranging of their own. 💐🌺

From garden to bouquet, everyone got to take home a little piece of the beauty they created!🌷

🐍 **What a SSSS-uccessful Day at the Pickens County Extension Office!! 🐍

We had a fantastic time hosting our Snake ID and Safety Workshop, and we want to thank everyone who joined us! It was an engaging day filled with learning, questions, and hands-on opportunities to better understand the snakes that call Alabama home.

Participants learned:
✅ How to identify common venomous and nonvenomous snakes found in Alabama
✅ The important role snakes play in our environment
✅ How to safely respond to snake encounters
✅ Tips for preventing unwanted snake interactions around homes and property

We appreciate everyone who took the time to attend and help promote safe, informed coexistence with one of nature's most misunderstood animals. A special thank you to our presenter, Forestry, Wildlife, and Natural Resources Agent, Dylan Taylor, who helped make this event such a success!
