Beef Systems Short Course - Session 3!

We had another great session of the Beef Systems Short Course at the Pickens County Extension Office last night.

This session focused on two important areas of beef production:

Nutrient Management & Environmental Stewardship - learning how responsible nutrient management can improve farm efficiency while protecting our land, water, and natural resources.

Meat Quality & Yield - exploring the factors that influence beef quality, carcass value, and overall yield, helping producers better understand what happens from the pasture to the plate.

A special thank you to Associate Extension Professor and Specialist Kent Stanford for sharing his expertise and providing valuable insight throughout the session!

A forage grass developed by Auburn University is helping cattle producers extend grazing seasons, reduce input costs and better withstand environmental pressures. We had a great second session last night of our Beef Systems Short Course. We still have two more nights left, and there’s plenty of time to register and join us for the remaining sessions.

Our topic last night was Reproductive Health and Record Keeping for your herd. Our amazing and entertaining Animal Science and Forages Agent, Court Green-Johnson, provided a wealth of knowledge to our participants.
