Our 5th graders made Text Analysis hands-on today! 🔎📚

Working with partners and small groups, students opened envelopes filled with science information about the landforms we’ve been learning about. They had just 1 minute to figure out how all the information connected! ⏱️

Then came the big reveal! Students identified the topic and realized they were actually analyzing text evidence, main ideas, supporting facts, and key details all along! 🌎🧠

Learning is always better when you have to put the pieces together! 💡

🚀🌎 Exploring the Solar System! ☀️🪐

Our 4th grade students in Ms. Brown’s science classes had a blast completing a Solar System Scavenger Hunt! 🔎✨ Students worked together to explore fascinating facts about the Sun, planets, moons, and more while putting their science knowledge to the test.

After exploring Japanese culture and learning about traditional sushi during our non-fiction reading unit, Mrs. Casswell’s students got to enjoy a delicious twist on their lesson. To celebrate their curiosity and hard work, Mrs. Casswell surprised her classes with custom "candy sushi" treats! 🍬🍣

Judging by all the big smiles, this hands-on (and tasty!) connection to our reading was a total hit. Way to make learning sweet, Mrs. Casswell!

Miss Emily’s class has been busy putting important life skills into practice!

This week, our students learned how to follow a recipe to make a simple classroom cleaner, carefully measuring and combining ingredients while practicing sequencing, following directions, and safety skills. Once our cleaner was ready, students took responsibility for their learning environment by cleaning and organizing their work areas. 🧽🫧

We also practiced functional communication through a pretend sandwich shop! 🥪 Students worked on taking sandwich orders, listening to their friends’ choices, communicating what they wanted, and preparing pretend sandwiches for their classmates. This was a fun way to practice communication, decision-making, following directions, and social interaction in a meaningful setting.

We are so proud of our students for working hard, helping one another, and building skills that they can use both in and outside of the classroom! ❤️
