Happy Juneteenth! Lambda Eta stands by our black brothers and sisters in recognizing this day which represents 156 years of freedom.
On this day in 1865 slaves in Galveston, Texas we’re finally informed of their freedom through the Emancipation Proclamation over 2 1/2 years after it was released. Juneteenth is the oldest national celebration of the ending of slavery in the United States.
Today we finally celebrate it as a official National Holiday!

🎓 Graduate Spotlight 🎓
Graduation is this Saturday and it is time to spotlight our Brothers that will be graduating this Saturday!
Next is the Deuce of Pi class, Laney Bledsoe (eLeevAEAtion;). Laney is a saxophone player majoring in Music Education. After graduation, Laney plans on starting her career as a middle school band teacher to inspire students with music like her teachers did when she was a kid. Through her time here in Lambda Eta Laney has served as social chair and treasurer for our chapter. When asked what Kappa Kappa Psi has done for her, she said “Kappa Kappa Psi gave me a sense of community and belonging throughout college. It helped build me into the person and the leader that I am today, and I am so so grateful for that.”
Words of Wisdom for Lambda Eta: “My advice to anyone is to take risks, laugh often, and remember that we are constantly being shaped into the very best versions of ourselves.”
Lambda Eta is proud of your hard work and dedication to our band program. Thank you for your years of service and contribution to our fraternity! We love you! AEA 💙

🎓 Graduate Spotlight 🎓
Graduation is this Saturday and it is time to spotlight our Brothers that will be graduating this Saturday!
First up is the 7 of Omicron Class, Luke Bass (DeKKlassified). Luke is a tube player that is double majoring in Music Performance and Music Education. After graduation, Luke plans on getting his master's degree in tuba performance. Throughout his time here at UWG, Luke served as principal chair for Tuba in wind ensemble and various leadership roles for TSTLTS. When asked what Kappa Kappa Psi has done for him he said "KKΨ taught me the importance of service and camaraderie in a band program as well as every day life."
Words of Wisdom for Lambda Eta: "Serve the way that fits your strengths. If you're a strong musician, play in as many ensembles as possible. If you're good with organization, help plan ensemble set up/tear down. If you're good at event planning, start up fund raisers or activities for the band. We all have different strengths- serve the best way YOU know how."
Lambda Eta is proud of your hard work and dedication to our band program. Thank you for your years of service and contribution to our fraternity! We love you! AEA 💙
