We're so proud to celebrate Vivian as our Lower School Leader of the Month! Vivian is a true example of what it means to be a Warrior of character. She's kind to everyone she meets, works hard in everything she does, and stays focused and on task no matter what. She's also quick to encourage her classmates to make good choices and always leads by example.

A friend to all, Vivian leads with integrity and shines as a positive light on The Mountain. She's thoughtful about how her choices affect others and gives her very best in all she does.

Oak Mountain Academy students recently received invitations to interview for the school's Student Ambassador Program. For the 2026-2027 school year, thirteen students were offered this interview invitation.

The program provides students with opportunities to develop leadership, communication, and hospitality skills while representing Oak Mountain Academy and welcoming prospective students and families into the school community. Students selected as ambassadors will serve as enthusiastic representatives of the Oak Mountain Academy experience.

Three of our International students, Charlotte, Luise and David attended their first baseball game Friday, watching the Rome Emperors take on the Hub City Spartanburgers. They enjoyed the game and time together, and said the fireworks at the end were amazing.

Moments like these are what our international program is all about. Beyond the classroom, welcoming students from around the world into the Warrior family means sharing our culture, our traditions, and even our ballparks, while our OMA community grows richer for the friendships, perspectives, and global connections these students bring with them. It's a two-way journey of discovery, and nights like Friday are a reminder of why that exchange matters so much.

On The Mountain, we don't just build spaces. We build legacies. 🏋️‍♂️

Yesterday, we officially dedicated The Barber Family Strength Training Studio with a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating a family whose generosity has shaped Oak Mountain Academy for generations.

Surrounded by student ambassadors, faculty, and members of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, Head of School Patrick J. Yuran shared it best: "This space will help our student athletes grow stronger and train smarter, but more importantly, it will teach habits that last far beyond their time here at Oak Mountain Academy: consistency, responsibility, grit, teamwork, and confidence."

To the Barber family: thank you for investing in our Warriors and for helping generations of students discover their strength, on the field, in the weight room, and in life.

🏔️Five Generations of Discovery on The Mountain🏔️

This week, we're celebrating something truly special here at Oak Mountain Academy: a 5th generation of the Flinn family beginning their OMA journey.

It all started in 1961, when Emery Flinn Jr. and Emery Flinn Sr., along with other founding families, helped bring Oak Mountain Academy to life. Their vision was clear: to prepare serious-minded students of sound character for college, to teach them how to learn, and to develop the discipline and leadership needed to succeed, all within a faith-based environment.

That vision has carried through generations of the Flinn family ever since. Michael Flinn attended from Kindergarten through graduation in 1978. Justin Flinn spent 13 years on The Mountain. Daughter Katy Flinn, son Logan Flinn, and sister EJ Tepp all walked across the OMA stage as graduates too.

Now, grandson Beckham begins his own journey, the 5th generation of this family to call Oak Mountain Academy home. The Flinn family's roots run even deeper today: Marni Flinn teaches Pre-K and McKay Flinn is a proud OMA room mom.

Five generations. One Mountain. A story of faith, discipline, and discovery that keeps growing.
