George Hamilton has become known as one of the most versatile and sought-after drummers in the music business. His broad experience ranging from Funk, Blues, Rock, Latin, Jazz, and Fusion makes him invaluable in any situation. George's warm, easy-going down-to-earth manner is refreshing from one of the most seasoned Regional Drummers. George's perfect balance between professionalism, strong work ethic, perfect meter, and congeniality make him the perfect colleague in any situation. George has earned a much-respected name in the music community across the country.
George's first teacher was Conway Villars at the age of 10, Conway started with rudimentary snare drum technique, then moving into reading drum set sheet music at age 11. At the age of 18, George studied with Gordy Knudston, a well-respected Minneapolis legend learning drum set technique and how to play musically as a drummer and adding a wealth of creative chops for George's arsenal.
Today, George continues to perform and record with countless musicians, talent agencies, and recording studios.
George's favorite advice to drummers?
"Be a musical drummer, concentrate on keeping the meter solid so it makes the musicians around you shine. Make your audience want to dance with you and of course play dynamically and with feel”.
