Welcome back to CHS, Dr. Simmons, and congratulations to Dr. Lyle on his well-deserved promotion! We are grateful for his leadership over the past five years, and we look forward to carrying on the tradition of excellence with Dr. Simmons at the helm. Go Trojans!
Carrollton City Schools has announced school leadership transitions for the upcoming year. Dr. Ian Lyle, Carrollton High School principal, has been promoted to a district-level position as Director of Personnel and Accountability. Dr. Eric Simmons has been named the new principal of CHS. Mrs. Amber Gable will take the lead as the principal of Carrollton Middle School.

The Carroll County Veterans Memorial Park Association hosted its annual Memorial Day ceremony today at 11:00am. The event featured musical performances by nearly 100 musicians and included a special commemoration for the Nation's 250th Anniversary. The Carrollton High School Air Force JROTC provided a Color Guard and other cadets to perform the wreath-laying ceremony.

Thank you to the Carrollton Arts Study Club for donating to the CHS Art Department! Their support will fund creative classroom projects. The contribution was presented by Mrs. Kristin Whitaker and Mrs. Chris Hibbard on behalf of the group.

Ms. Lowry’s class is hard at work creating and responding to plays, integrating music for scenes, and singing to express text. This student led project was the culmination of straight plays, opera, and musical theater units.

As we prepare for the last week of school, please review this week's early release schedule! The last day of school is May 20 for pre-K through 11th grade. Early release times are as follows: May 19 - CHS only (12:30 p.m.); May 20 - CES (11:15 a.m.), CUES (11:30 a.m.), CHS (12:30 p.m.), and CMS (12:45 p.m.).

Congratulations to Haley Rowell for receiving the Principal’s Award for Outstanding Achievement in Instrumental Music, a prestigious honor recognizing her two years as Drum Major, All-State honors, and exceptional academic leadership. Haley’s dedication to both our music program and her rigorous studies makes her a truly deserving recipient of this year's top award!

Congratulations to CHS Class of 2024 graduate and former RaLin Academy student Carolina Velasquez, who was the Student Keynote Speaker at West Georgia Technical College graduation last week! CHS RaLin Academy Instructor Chris Stone showed up to support her milestone achievement.
