Phi Mu was founded in 1852 at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. The Philomathean Society became Phi Mu Fraternity in 1904.
It began as the Philomathean Society, a literary society, and is the second oldest secret society for women. The Gamma Rho Chapter of Phi Mu was the installed in 1971 and is UWG's oldest sorority. Over the past 39 years, Phi Mu has kept the high standards and great reputation of their founding sisters. Hey girls!!! The homecoming voting is up on OrgSync! Below I have listed out the instructions for how to vote! Just so yall know there are 22 girls who are running! And the voting will determine the top 10 so PLEASE vote! If you are a student at UWG (undergrad or grad) you can vote!!
1. Log on to OrgSync (with your UWG username and password)
2. In the search bar type in "UWG Homecoming" and click on it
3. Click on "forms"
4. Click on "Voting for 2016 Homecoming King and Queen"
5. Click "begin form"
6. Vote!!!
7. Make sure to click "finish" after you are done voting so it will submit

We're so honored to have Lindsay Shank representing our chapter on Homecoming Court this year! Lindsay is a senior here a West Georgia with a major in Mass Communications and a concentration Public Relations and a minor in Marketing with a certificate in advertising and sales. Lindsay's overall GPA is a 3.92 and has been on the deans list every semester and been awarded the Ingram Scholar every semester. She currently holds the Hope Scholarship, Zell Miller, and Emerging Leaders Scholarship and won the CPC living the Ritual Award. Lindsay has served well in Phi Mu over the years as Campus Activities Assistant, Intramural Chairman, Phi Assistant, Discipline Committee, and our current Executive Council as Phi Director. Outside of Phi Mu, Lindsay serves on the Blue Coats Organization as Secretary, Co Chair of Selection Committee, Leadership Advisory Board, Involvement Committee Head. Lindsay has also completed the Leadership to Go tracks including: emerging leader, personal leader, organizational leader, Greek leader, and advanced leader. She is also an active member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, Honors College, Pack Leader, and PRSSA. We're so proud of all your hard work, Lindsay! Happy Monday, friends and an even happier Mu Crush Monday! This week we're crushing hard on our sister, Savannah Rollins! Savannah is a senior here at West Georgia and she is majoring in Psychology where she plans on pursing a career in Pharmaceutical Sales. She was on UWG's All-Girl cheerleading team for two years and has taken part in giving back to the community by volunteering for community service in different places throughout Carrollton. Savannah is currently on our Public Relations committee, where she strives to uphold Phi Mu's participation and reputation throughout not only Greek life but also around campus. She's also currently working as a sales associate at Petal Boutique. We're so proud of how much this girl has grown in her faith over the last four years as she is an active member of the Campus Outreach program and wishes to strengthen her relationship with Christ everyday. Happy Mu Crush Monday to our sister Ashley! Ashley is a sophomore here at West Georgia who is from Columbus, Georgia, where she graduated from Columbus High School. She is currently attending West Georgia on the Hope Scholarship, where she is studying Early Childhood to further a career in teaching. Ashley has maintained a 3.7 GPA, placing her on the Dean's List for two consecutive semesters in a row. Ashley also received the Leadership To Go Track certificate and helps us tremendously on the Campus Activities committee. We are so thankful to have such a sweet and versatile member of our chapter! We love you Ashley 💗

Happy Mu Monday to our sister, Sarah Carroll! Sarah is a senior here at West Georgia majoring in speech-language pathology with a minor in Spanish. She has maintained a 3.8 gpa and has been on the Deans List every semester. She is a current member of the Honors College and National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association and works as a Body Pump instructor as Club Fitness as well as teaches Spanish to preschoolers at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Sarah has also been a tremendous amount of help in Phi Mu as she has held both chairman positions of our Ritual and Academic Excellence committees. We're so proud to have a sister like Sarah who stays involved in the community and prioritizes her academics. Thank you for everything you do!

Today's the day! Today we send our sweet seniors off into the big world. We are so incredibly proud of each individual's contribution to our chapter over the last four years & we are going to miss them tremendously.
