Phi Mu at UWG

Phi Mu at UWG Phi Mu was founded in 1852 at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. The Philomathean Society became Phi Mu Fraternity in 1904.

It began as the Philomathean Society, a literary society, and is the second oldest secret society for women. The Gamma Rho Chapter of Phi Mu was the installed in 1971 and is UWG's oldest sorority. Over the past 39 years, Phi Mu has kept the high standards and great reputation of their founding sisters. Phi Mu gives each member opportunities to learn outside the classroom: to lead, to be an active

member, to learn, to play, to share with and support eachother. Although, all Phi Mus have different college experiences, we all share a Bond of Sisterhood. We all believe in the ideals of our Creed: Love, Honor, and Truth.
