As President of Newman Smith High School PTSA, I am truly grateful for leaders who serve from the HEART. Claudia is one of those people whose compassion, faith, encouragement, and servant leadership naturally pours into everyone around her.

💼 Role: Hospitality
💡 What she does: Helps create welcoming and encouraging environments while supporting our scholars, staff, families, and PTSA events with care and excellence.

❤️ What I appreciate most: Your heart for people, your unwavering encouragement, and your ability to make others feel seen, valued, and supported. You serve with purpose and genuine love for our school community.

🌟 What Claudia Loves Most About Serving:
“I do what I do for the scholars. It takes a village, yes, but we influence, teach, and show them what many of them don’t see sometimes in a world of chaos. We encourage, we show them a proper understanding of what is possible with hard work and dedication. We give some a grain of HOPE.”

✨ Fun Fact:
Claudia says she may seem a little “crazy” some days, but that’s because her intelligence keeps her moving fast! More importantly, after all life has brought her through, she is intentionally enjoying the blessings of life to the fullest extent possible through faith. 💜

As President of Newman Smith High School PTSA, it has truly been an honor to serve alongside leaders who give their time, talents, and heart so selflessly to our school community. Kara is absolutely one of those people.

💡 What she does: Manages finances, ensures transparency, and helps protect the resources that support our mission and scholars.

💜 What I appreciate most: Your diligence, accountability, wisdom, and commitment to doing things the RIGHT way. Your leadership helps keep our organization grounded, structured, and operating with excellence.

“The one thing I love best about serving on the PTSA board is the opportunity to work with all the different people that make up PTSA. I particularly like helping scholars realize goals and make a difference in their school community.”

TODAY Newman Smith High School PTSA will hold its Annual Elections!

As we prepare, we are grateful for the many board members who have expressed their willingness to continue serving our school community.

All roles offer meaningful opportunities to serve and make an impact. We are especially excited for increased STUDENT involvement, as our scholars will be elected and will finally begin putting the “S” in PTSA.
Important Reminder:

All officer positions are open for vote and will be filled through the election process, and nominations will be taken from the floor during our General Membership Meeting:

🗓 Date: May 5, 2026
⏰ Time: 6:15pm
📍 Location: NSHS Library

Important:
• Individuals do NOT have to be current PTSA members to be nominated
• ONLY current PTSA members are eligible to vote
• All nominees MUST agree to serve if elected
• Individuals desiring to vote may join PTSA PRIOR to the start of voting
• Those elected must become PTSA members within 30 days of the start of the membership year (August 1) in order to serve.
