It requires a specific credential called the Certified Health Care Constructor (CHC), and it's not an easy one to get. It takes years of health care construction experience, a tough exam, and real knowledge of how to keep patients safe throughout a project. Most contractors never earn it, and not every SERVPRO location can say they have someone on their team who does.

A school gym floor sees decades of use and it's built to take that kind of daily impact, but water is the one thing it isn't built to handle.

Most school gym floors are sprung systems, with air space and padding underneath the hardwood to cushion impact and protect athletes. That same design becomes a liability the moment water is involved. A roof leak, a plumbing issue, or even condensation from reduced summer HVAC can send moisture straight into that underlayer, where it spreads out of sight while the surface still looks completely normal.
