Carroll County High School has begun enacting restricted access to the roadway in front of the high school during the morning drop-off and afternoon pickup hours.

Motorists will not be allowed to drive on the roadway that connects the Cartmell parking lots and Carroll County High School parking lots between 7:15 a.m. to 7:40 a.m. or 2:40 p.m. to 3 p.m. each day. This is being enforced for the safety of our students and staff. School Resource Officer David Trimble will direct motorists from the high school lot and cones are in place near Cartmell to deter drivers from entering the area in the morning and afternoon.

We appreciate your cooperation and support in enforcing this safety measure for the benefit of our staff and students.

Mrs. Sutton’s leadership class has been learning about school climate and culture and what makes a school a place where students and staff feel supported, valued, and connected.

This week, our students took their learning beyond the classroom by interviewing both staff and students to hear their perspectives on our school’s climate and culture. Their goal is to listen, learn, and identify ways they can use their leadership skills to better serve and support our school community.

Students are learning leadership isn’t just about having a title, it’s about listening to others, recognizing needs, and finding ways to make a positive difference.

Come to Panther Field tonight and cheer on our CCHS Panthers football team as they take on Owen County. The youth cheer and football teams will be recognized before game time.

Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for students. Panther students with their school ID get in free!

🔎🧲 Mystery in the Science Classroom!

Our sophomore science students took on a Mystery Box Challenge! 📦 They used magnets, scales, and their scientific reasoning skills to investigate their boxes and figure out what was hidden inside.

Hands-on learning, teamwork, and a little mystery make science even more fun! 🧪🐾🖤💛

Carroll County Schools implemented a policy for athletic events to help ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone last year. Please see below for a refresher on the requirements as our high school athletic season is underway.

Beginning immediately:
• Students below ninth grade must be accompanied by an adult to attend Carroll County High School athletic events. The adult does not have to be the student’s legal parent or guardian.
• All Carroll County high school students must present a school-issued student ID for admission. Carroll County students who show their ID will receive free admission to home games.
• Students who cannot provide proof that they are a Carroll County High School student and arrive without an adult will not be admitted and will be asked to contact a parent or guardian for pickup.
• Younger students may still spend time with friends during games but are expected to remain in designated areas, including clearly identified safe play areas at the football field.

The policy also applies to students visiting from other schools. Visiting high school students may be asked to show a school ID or driver’s license to verify their grade level, and students from other counties will pay regular admission.

We appreciate the cooperation of our families, students and community as we work to make Carroll County athletic events safe, welcoming and enjoyable for everyone.

Learning about how we learn best! 🧠✨

Students in Mrs. Sutton’s class completed a “What Type of Learner Are You?” survey to learn more about their individual learning styles. Understanding how they learn best helps students begin to take ownership and accountability for their own learning and recognize strategies that can help them be successful in the classroom. 📚💡

Students also worked on their “All About Me”, giving them an opportunity to share more about who they are—their interests, strengths, goals, and what makes them unique!

We’re starting the year by learning more about ourselves as learners and as individuals, because knowing yourself is an important first step toward growth! 🖤💛🐾
