The CAES PTA needs your help in the next calendar year. We need new board members to be voted in by the end of this school year. I would like you to seriously consider becoming part of the board. All positions are available and although the specific duties of each position are a necessity, the function of each role is highly flexible. The necessary positions for a PTA to exist are President, Secretary, and Treasurer. If these positions are not filled by the end of this school year, the PTA will dissolve and potentially any money that has been held in reserve in the savings account will be forfeited to the Virginia PTA. The school will lose out on a significant amount of money that impacts everything from student supplies to family events..

In the past two years that I have been Treasurer we as a PTA have been able to:
Sponsor multiple bookfairs
Provide classroom funds for Encore teachers and Counselors
Funded and coordinated multiple teacher/administration/staff appreciation events
Funded and coordinated Breakfast with Santa
Fundraised and coordinated teacher holiday gifts, playground picnic tables
Provided indoor recreation equipment
Provided 3rd grade SOL support and 3rd grade graduation receptions
Provided funds for field day
Provided funds for Encore Family Nights

These are some examples of how you can make a direct impact on the school during your children’s time at CAES. This list does not include all the unseen ways in which the PTA impacts the school such as communicating with teachers and administration as to their needs to provide a better experience for the students.

Nominations will occur at the next General PTA Membership meeting on Monday May 8th at 7:00pm via Zoom with voting at the meeting in June. If you would like to nominate someone (since you cannot nominate yourself) please be sure to join us at May’s meeting.
