Hey, I’m Drew, and here is my experience in learning a second language and what I believe
Both the teacher and the learner matter – but learner commitment matters the most.
There’s no magic pill, and this isn’t one of the ads you see for “learning a language in 3 weeks” type of hyperbole.
It takes work and discipline--just like everything worth doing does.
It’s worth it! The random strangers I’ve had meaningful conversations with and the life-long friends I’ve made are a testament to the transformation Spanish has had on my life. I have a reverence and respect for the Spanish culture that in my opinion, you need to have in order to “stick with it” to get fluent.

Summer of 2014 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I got to be the language guide for my parents as we toured all over BA. Such an amazing city with deep history and culture. Argentine Spanish has its intricacies and jargon that let you know you aren’t just in a Spanish speaking country: you’re in Buenos Aires! Can’t wait to go back.

I posted recently about this new venture of mine with my personal account. I decided to set up a business account for My Personal Spanish Teacher.

As a long-time student of Spanish, teacher of ESL and language and culture enthusiast, this avenue really speaks to what gets me out of bed in life.

Travel has long since been a passion of mine. Over the years, the language and culture of different places has fascinated and inspired me.

I want to go everywhere and see everything. While this isn’t financially or logistically possible for me, language acquisition and making relationships with people who have similar interests, helps me feel like I’m “abroad” even if I’m here in Carrollton, Texas.

As a native English speaker and biliterate person, I can help you achieve your Spanish speaking goals and cut out a lot of wasted time, energy and money because I’ve walked this path for seventeen years.
