Letter of Clarification
In 1992, through the generosity and vision expressed in a church member’s aunt’s will, a sum of money was designated to establish Little Shepherds Preschool at Shalom United Methodist Church. From that gift, a preschool was founded with the intention of fostering young minds in a nurturing environment where children could learn, grow, and play.
Over the years, that original vision gradually expanded to include latchkey and daycare services. While these additions served many families and children well, they moved Little Shepherds beyond the preschool-focused mission upon which it was founded.
After thoughtful reflection and prayerful consideration, our goal is to return to the original vision by strengthening and expanding the exceptional preschool program that was established many years ago. We are committed to honoring the intent of that initial gift by focusing on high-quality early childhood education and providing a strong foundation for our youngest learners.
It deeply saddens us to say goodbye to our school-age children. We love them dearly and are grateful for the time they have been part of the Little Shepherds family. We sincerely hope to continue seeing them in our community and watching them grow. They will always be a part of Little Shepherds and will forever remain in our hearts.
We are thankful for the continued support of our church and community as we move forward with clarity, purpose, and dedication to the preschool mission that began in 1992.
