RePattern I've been teaching for over 35 years and recently retired from public school. I believe everyone can be successful given the right tools.

Three things happen here:
• music classes for children,
• movement and timing sessions for
people with ADHD, and
• movement lessons that reduce tension
and promote ease. RePattern allows me to help children who are struggling in school and adults dealing with pain or chronic stress. In music education it's the primary music skills (keeping a beat and singing in tune) that lay the foundations for literacy, understanding, and good musicianship. In general education it's learning to focus on the right things that allow children to learn and grow. In the workplace it's a vast array of skills that build a foundation for successful work. It all begins with movement! My methods are non-invasive, non-medical, and don’t include drugs. They involve listening, moving, identifying patterns, and improving coordination between brain and body. The work has many case studies to back it up. It seems simple, but the effect on the nervous system is powerful!

If you need help with walking with more ease, message me about some Alexander Technique lessons to get your body moving with more mechanical efficiency.

Know someone with poor coordination? Or an odd way of doing things? Maybe there is a reflex pattern still active.

Reflexes can affect us at any age. They are part of a developmental process. Children can get stuck in patterns that cause frustration with sports or learning. Adults can also get back to these patterns through injury or other trauma. Find out what helps!

Monday Motivation
As we start the first week of a new month . . . just exhale!

Exhaling is the part of breath we can really control. It brings us into the parasympathetic state of the nervous system and allows the whole body system to calm down. The brain will inhale on its own if you allow it, so just E X H A L E.

Yes!!! This is also true of walking.

Yes!!! This is also true of walking.

Run lighter. Move smarter. Feel better. 🏃‍♀️✨

The Alexander Technique helps runners become more aware of how they move — releasing unnecessary tension, improving coordination, and finding greater ease with every stride.

Because sometimes running faster starts with learning how to move with less effort.

I’m excited to announce another published paper about how the Alexander Technique helps Parkinson’s Disease. Congratulations to the Poise Project!

Alexander Technique Awareness Week | Research Spotlight

How can the Alexander Technique support people living with Parkinson’s disease?

A newly published, peer-reviewed study from The Poise Project explores the benefits of Poised for Parkinson’s, an online Alexander Technique curriculum designed to address both motor and non-motor challenges.

The study reported encouraging results, including:
✨ Improvements in self-reported symptom management, particularly drooling, falls, posture, and gait.
✨ Improvements in objective measures of functional reach and proactive inhibitory control.
✨ Benefits that were observed at a six-month follow-up.

These preliminary findings highlight the potential of the Alexander Technique to support people living with Parkinson’s disease and their family care partners.

We’re excited to celebrate the growing body of Alexander Technique research and share its potential with a wider community!
