We would like to recognize our retirees this year. These are four amazing educators who have truly made a difference in the lives of many students throughout the years. PRC is a better place because of them! We wish them nothing but the best…and a lot of rest…as they begin their retirement! 💙

Marty Lee
“I have taught a total of 41 years. Thirty-seven of those have been at PRC. I also went to PRC from 1966 to 1977 for a total of 48 years at PRC. I think it is time to step out of education but I feel so blessed that the Lord allowed me to teach for as long as I did. My plans are for me and wife to travel and just do whatever we want to do. I have worked for and worked with some wonderful people and I don’t know how many students I have taught but it would be in the thousands. God has truly blessed me and PRC will always have a special place in my heart.”

Gwen Wester
“I have a total of 36 years in education with three of those at PRCHS.
PRCHS has been the best school I have ever had the honor of teaching at. My husband, Steve, has commented on how different I come home feeling. The science department is an amazing community to work in. The involvement in this community will be the most missed part of retirement.
Retirement!! Big word with lots of possibilities! I plan to sew, weave, show dogs, sew some more, quilt, travel, weave some more, make jewelry, do some Earth Dog Events, Barn Hunts, Field Trials, Lure Coursing, and Weiner Dog Races with my dachshunds, then back to sewing, quilting, weaving...repeat...repeat...oh and sit in my new rocking chair and watch the sunset!!”

Amy Fleming
“I’m not sure how I feel about retiring; I really hope I’m not making a huge mistake. PRC has been so much more than a job, and I will miss working alongside treasured friends who have filled the past 25 years with unforgettable memories. In August I will begin a new chapter as a math teacher at Bogalusa High School. I’m looking forward to this adventure and sharing all of the knowledge I’ve acquired during my time at PRC.”

Roxie Lee
“I have taught 29 years, all at PRC. I look forward to retirement. I plan to travel and spend time with my family and do "all the things"! My life as a student and a teacher at PRC has been amazing. I never wanted to be anywhere else.”

And that’s a wrap on the Class of 2024! 💙
We will miss seeing them at PRCHS, but we pray their future is filled with success and happiness!

Mrs. Miranda Loveless, a PRCHS Art and Sign Language teacher, made it her mission for Sign Language to be considered a Foreign Language for high school students in Mississippi.
"Back in 2021, I found out that the only reason Sign Language was not considered to be a Foreign Language was due to the fact that it had never gone to the State Legislature. I started looking into who could help with this and at the time Mr. Aiden Hill (a student at PRCHS) was in my class. In the Fall of 2022, Senator Angela Hill was on campus one day. I took that opportunity to reach out to her, and she gave me her phone number. We started discussing what we could do to get this to the legislature, and she took it to the state level for us. In January of 2023, the State School Board had a new superintendent placement which resulted in no changes in the education program through the state. In January of 2024, I reached out to Mrs. Angela Hill again, and we started the process of getting Sign Language approved through the state. I have been in contact with Mrs. Angela to answer questions about the standards I teach and the programs I use. This helped her take the information to the correct group in the State office. Without the help of Aiden Hill and Mrs. Angela Hill, this could have never happened. They helped me get things together and made this possible."
Thank you, Mrs. Loveless, for helping make a positive change in Mississippi education!
