The Blue Devil Horn for this week goes to...

Congratulations to Liam Cranmer. Liam is a First Grade student at PRC Elementary School. He was nominated by a High School Teacher/Coach. The nominations states the following:

"Liam is a first grader at PRCES who attended our PRCHS basketball game and took on the responsibility of cleaning trash off of the bleachers. He was not prompted by an adult and his level of leadership was outstanding to watch. What an honor to see one of our elementary students see a need and gladly take charge. I spoke with Liam and he was joyful about the opportunity to help out. As he continued to walk back and forth to the trash can with trash from the bleachers it was obvious he was what a BLUE DEVIL BLUE HORN recipient is and he deserves the recognition. Thanks Liam for being a Proud Blue Devil." - Ms. Nicole Brown

"Coach Shelly planned, organized, and hosted an amazing Christmas party for all of the self-contained classrooms at the Elementary school this week! She did a wonderful job! There were a ton of games, music, lights, face painting, food, sensory activities, and more for the children to do. All the students and staff had a wonderful time. It isn’t often that we all are able to be together, and it was a very nice time. Coach Shelly also organizes monthly bowling trips for the self-contained classes as well, which are so much fun for the students. Coach Shelly is a great asset to PRC and to all the self-contained classes. She adds extra support in the classroom during Adaptive P.E. time, and the students love Coach Shelly. We love and appreciate Coach Shelly for all her hard work and dedication!" - Ms. Jessica Walker

She truly is one the kids all look forward to seeing. We truly appreciate her love, support, and dedication to our classes." - Ms. Kristi Stephens

"Coach Shelly deserves this nomination because I do not know anyone that works harder for their students like she does. Not only does she coach different sports for the school, she also assists all the self-contained classes. She organizes bowling trips, plans Christmas parties, assists in the classroom, and many more things for the students. She has such a big heart and is always willing to go the extra mile for her colleagues and students. We could not do the things we do if it wasn't for Coach Shelly. "I would like to nominate Donna Barnes for the Blue Devil Horn .Throughout my years here at PRCLE, I have witnessed one of the most amazing effective teachers ever. Donna Barnes has a true "gift" of teaching that I hope to achieve in my teaching career. PRC has been blessed for 30 years with the true gift of Mrs. Barnes teaching. She has taught K for that long. WOW!! I have only been blessed with her for half that time. I could never thank her enough for making me the teacher I am today. She has helped me and many teachers that have graced PRC throughout the years. Mrs. Barnes is an energetic, motivational, loving, helpful, and a kind kindergarten teacher. She goes above and beyond to meet the needs of her students and always has. This year, I have Friday duty with her and she has different gloves each week to have High Five Friday with kids coming down the hall. She puts smiles on students' faces as they walk down the hall. Mrs. Barnes has been teaching Kindergarten inclusion for many years, and has even taken on the task of teaching kindergarten ELL students. She makes teaching academically diverse students look super easy. Her lessons are highly effective and meet all the needs of her students. She is always looking for new highly effective lessons to teach. I love walking into her classroom because I always leave with new lesson ideas because she loves to share new and old school lessons. I will never be able to thank her enough for all that she has done for me. I know in my heart there are other teachers and parents that feel the same way. She has built long lasting relationships with her students and their families. Her ability to connect with her students is amazing and her teaching is exceptional. She has a true gift of teaching and PRC is very blessed to have her. This is her last year here and nobody will ever take her place. She is one of a kind and a true blessing." - Ms. Angela Fitzgerald

"Donna is an absolute blessing to our kindergarten team. She is an advocate for her students and coworkers. She has given 30 years to our school and has impacted numerous people. Losing her to retirement at the end of this school year will be a loss to our district, but we are excited to see what life has in store for Mrs. Barnes." - Ms. Ashleigh Seal

"Mrs. Barnes is shining light on the elementary campus. She always goes the extra mile for her students, coworkers, and friends. I feel blessed to be a part of the kindergarten team with Mrs. Barnes. I hope she knows how much she is loved and valued!" - Ms. Jennifer Philipello
