EA+ can assist you whether you’re cruising, traveling by land, or flying.
In most cruise emergencies, the safest first step is for the ship to take you to the nearest port, where you can be transferred to a local medical facility for evaluation.
Once we’re notified, the EA+ team can work with the cruise line and our medical team to coordinate emergency transportation to the closest appropriate medical facility if medically necessary. If the medical team determines that appropriate care isn’t available at the next port, we can help coordinate transportation to a more appropriate facility. Direct air evacuation from a cruise ship is rare and is generally handled by the U.S. Coast Guard when necessary.
The bottom line? If a medical emergency happens while you’re cruising, contact EA+ as soon as possible so we can help coordinate the appropriate assistance.
